About the author

William Bell is an award-winning author of more than a dozen books for young adults.

Born in Toronto, Ontario in 1945, he has been a high school English teacher and department head, and an instructor at the Harbin University of Science and Technology, the Foreign Affairs College in Beijing, and the University of British Columbia.

The story is strange because the explanations all the people are using for the moon are abstracted ideas of what they long for which is best for much older children or adults. However the absurdity of the story overall seems much more fitting for a young child. He just didn't quite get the balance.

The pencil crayon illustrations are very nice, except at the start where the double page spread makes the words hard to see/read. It is solved for the rest of the book though.
