Humiliation is my middle name. After leaving all I know and love behind to start life fresh and unembarrassed in a tiny back-water town, I’ve come to the realization that I can’t escape embarrassing situations no matter how hard I try. They follow me around. And sometimes they even look right in my window. My first day here? I got caught with one hand on my book and the other…er… busy downstairs. I don’t know about you, but a loud ‘Baaaaaa’ just before you finish kills the heat toot sweet. But that’s not where this embarrassing moment ends. Because with that peeping-Tom sheep was a rather delicious looking farmer. A farmer who is now visiting me every day asking to borrow a new romance book. This could turn into something special...
As with all Megan Wade books, this Cedarwood Valley romance comes with her Sugar Promise. High heat, low drama, guaranteed.

Regina has suffered one of the worst humiliating experiences imaginable after her fiancé left her at the alter on what was meant to be the most amazing day of her life. She was fed up with the looks of pity and decided that the only way forward was to move her life somewhere else. It was moving day that she was caught in a compromising situation by her hot new neighbour and his sheep, but there was something that happened that moment, a glimpse of hope grew within her when she met Josh, and nothing could keep him away. As much as Reggie tries to keep him at arm’s length, she just doesn’t want to but for how long will Josh want her, will she end up hurt all over again, will she give him her heart or has what happened broken her heart beyond repair?
Josh had no idea what he was going to see when he went looking for his missing sheep but what he saw changed his life forever. His perfect woman had been caught making herself feel very happy and all he wanted was to help her every day for the rest of his life. But it does not take him long to learn that she has been hurt in a way he does not know if she can recover from but that isn’t going to stop him trying to show her what real love is. Will she let Josh show her how she should be treated, or will her ex return to destroy what he thought they had?
OMG this book had me giggling in the first few pages and I cannot help but say it was an excellent read with a heroine that finds herself just where she was meant to be, and she gets to write her own ending in the perfect way. 4.5* read.
Look, these stories that MW writes have a distinct formula. You are not going to read this and come to some earth shattering revelation about your life. Her books are not for everyone and they are pretty fluffy and simple. However, in this age of mass shootings(one that hit a little too close to home recently) it is sometimes nice to be able to read a fairy tale love story while drinking your morning java.
Heroine(29)in the story was jilted on her wedding day. She decides to move out to the country as she has a job that can be done from anywhere. The H(39) is a sheep farmer who comically comes upon the heroine as she is getting into one of her books. After the embarrassment, the h and H form a friendship and she introduces him to the joys of reading romance. They read books together, become lovers, and eventually marry. We have a sweet epilogue at the end. The h’s ex does rear his ugly head, but it just shows the h how lucky she is that she has the H in her life.
Super sweet, with basically no drama. That’s it. Their love scenes are hot but not pornographic like some books in the KU universe.
I loved reading Reggie and Josh’s story. Our leading lady is a kindred spirit who loves to read romance novels. Thanks to her pastime, she meets Josh. Their meet-cute was the most awkward way to meet a guy that I’ve ever read. It was funny and cringy and perfect all at the same time. Josh, the farmer, is her new neighbor and becomes her emotional knight in shining armor. One thing I found endearing about Josh’s character is that he too becomes a kindred spirit who likes reading (and researching) romance novels for the love of his girl, Reggie. Their happy ending was super sweet, three time over. Loved all three epilogues.
Megan Wade novels always make me smile and laugh and sigh at the yummy romance. This was a great addition to the collection.

Regina met Josh under the most embarrassing moments. Josh was looking for his sheep that got away when he heard her enjoying herself. Regina thought she would die of embarrassment but Josh was turned on and wanted to know more. After she literally threw a book at him he went home and read it. The next day he went back and asked for another book. That's how they became friends. Then one day he ordered two of every book so they could read together. Josh told her he wanted to act out the scenes in the books they read. This is how their relationship starts. It only gets better and better with each book. Josh thinks they should write a book together and they do that. Started out embarrassed, ended up the best moment in both of their lives.

Megan Wade kicks off a brand new series, Quirky Curves, with the awesome Bean Flicker. Josh and Regina's meet-cute is spot-on in both its hilarity and sexiness. From the moment the sheep farmer meets his new neighbour, Josh and Reggie's chemistry is off-the-charts. She has understandable trepidation about men and relationships after being unceremoniously left at the altar, and has retreated to country to lick her wounds and pick up the pieces - but when Josh enters her life and soon shares with her a love of romance novels, Reggie finds herself letting him in. But will she ever be ready to contemplate committing again? A fantastically written, entertaining, steamy romp that will leave you with a huge smile on your face.

This was spicy Romcom. You need to read it to find out what the title of the book means haha. It's hilarious and brilliant.
Regina has moved to the farm after the worst day of her life. Being rejected at the alter. She has resigned to live HEA through her book boyfriends.
Josh is her neighbour. Going out on a search for his missing sheep, he finds more than that.
Their meet cute was so funny, I couldn't stop giggling.
I loved how fiercely Josh loved her and wasn't afraid to show her. Then her ex shows up!! Will she stay with Josh or will she go back to her ex fiancé?
Great feel good book and laugh out loud.
All I'm going to say is I would love a book buddy to test out.... Ahem certain scenes.
Oh, this a fun short romance that had me laughing and gasping at the surprise. After being left at the altar, Regina needing a place to get away and heal. In a small town she thought that a new start would be perfect, that is until she was interrupted by a sheep and its own while reading with one hand.
Josh did not mean to stare into the room, but the woman reading had captivated him. With an embarrassing first meeting, Josh and Regina find themselves in getting to know each other, a love for books and a connection that has you melting in your seat.
Great sweet read that clicks all the right buttons and is a delight to read.

Bean Flicker is the first book in the Quirky Curves series. This is a hilariously funny, sweet, quirky, and entertaining story, once you just suspend your thoughts and go with the OTT premise of the couple, Regina Malone and Josh Oliver. Regina needs to get away from it all so she moves to a cottage in the country. What she was not expecting was reading a romance book plus a wayward sheep leading to a very embarrassing meeting with her closest neighbor, Josh. I did enjoy this story even as I rolled my eyes at times and laugh out loud. I will say that I am looking forward to the next book in the series and hopefully a story about Josh's sister.
Megan Wade kicks new series of shorts starts off with a flair of a flick when she meets her sheep farming neighbor Josh. The embarrassing meet-cute sets the stage for the laugh out loud humor that follows.
Josh and Reggie characters spark with chemistry upon their awkward meeting. However, the two spend the next few months getting to know one another and bond over romance novels.
Josh has been alone his entire life and expected to marry a local woman that understands the farm life for companionship. That was until Reggie sparks the whole soul heart love. The only issue is Reggie's been broken by her past. Dumped at the alter in front of friends and family can she let that betrayal go and let true love in? Time will only tell.
three point five stars for this one. this was actually surprisingly good. like it wasn't the best book ever by any means, but i was pretty well entertained for what it was. it was only a short one, a little smutty novella, but it also showed how the main characters had an understanding of one another that was super deep. it was really cute, and i think reggie and josh really got what they deserved. this was a cute book overall, and i think i could definitely check out a book by this author again, it was really well written! i had so much fun oml. you guys have got to check this book out. go go go. read this book.
I loved Bean Flicker: A small-town BBW romance Book 1 of Quirky Curves. This book flowed so well and had some hilarious parts. The meet cute was the best Regina just moved to a new town and had an embarrassing encounter with her next door neighbor. Jose fell head over heels for Regina. Now he just has to break down her barrier and show her how a real man will treat her. This was such a sweet story and I just love the characters. I can’t wait for Kym and Mariah to get stories. I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to the series.

I have so enjoyed this book, my only gripe is that I wanted it to be longer, I wanted more of them as I thought they were so good together and they made me smile. How they met was an O.M.G moment and I just loved how Josh went about wooing her, there was a man who knew what he wanted and had no doubt that in time he'd get it! Although the bonus epilogue did give me some of what I wanted, there were a couple of things I would have personally liked to have read about in more detail, purely because I wanted more of them together.

It started out so great! I had such high hopes! And then... skip a month and instead of seeing any of their relationship building, the characters just tell you they've never felt this... yada yada before. Not only that but I was reading for like an hour, maybe an hour and a half, when I got to the skip part and checked the percentage. I was like 46% already, meaning I was almost half way through and the story felt like it was just beginning. Then maybe 15 minutes later I was at 60% and they were all "I love you" and "I love you too". And it was just dumb. Really cute idea, poor execution. DNF at 60%, which according to my start rating scale means it gets one star. Bummer.
Regina leaves the city, moving to a small town where no one knows her humiliation. Her first day there, while trying to relax, a sheep peeps in her window. She finds the owner of said sheep also peeping in. What will she do? Will they move beyond the window peeping?
I enjoyed this story. It was funny. I liked watching the give and take between Regina and the farmer Josh, her next door neighbor (so to speak.) I loved how Regina's love of books brought them close together and they got even closer because of the books. I enjoyed watching Josh handle Regina's reason for leaving the city.
I had fun with this book and look forward to more fun with the next book.
Bean Flicker is a charming, romantic read. Reggie and Josh are just perfect together. Their meet-cute is fantastic! It's equal parts embarrassing and hilarious. I didn't know whether to laugh or cringe, so I did both.
I love that his nickname for her is derived from their first encounter and he continues to use it throughout the book. It elicited a smile from me each time he says it.
Their story is a sweet and steamy one and I highly recommend this read from Megan Wade.

I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review You should know: Unprotected and many open discussion about "self-fondling". -Light, short, not too many open bedroom scenes, a bit cheesy/sappy, but that's the author's style. It's always fun to know the references made to other books/series. -I hadn't realize Josh was there before the sheep and the sheep brought attention to the fact he was standing at the window, watching. -I was just a little confused as to how Josh knew which luggage were Mariah's at the airport.
Regina is no stranger to humiliation, her ex left her at the altar as he was not feeling it. Now the next door neighbor has caught her getting busy, he does not even feel bad for not looking away. This sheep farmer is hot, he stole her book.
He returns her book the next day and asks if she has something else. He looks at her like he is interested, but given her track record can she trust it?
This farm boy surprise her when he asks her to read the book while he gets busy on parts of her body.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I laughed thru most of this story. With Reggie and Josh, it seemed to be one humor filled moment after another. The relationship develops quickly. Josh is sure that she is his from the start. He's going to do whatever it takes to win her over, even a little dirty reading. Things develop from an instant attraction/embarrassment to friendship and finally no more doubts about love. I thought there might have been more humor and attitude than romance this time. That is what stuck with me most. Still an enjoyable read
Reggie moved to a small farming town after her ex humiliated her by walking out of their wedding when she got to the alter. She is a BBW and on her first night in her new cabin she is caught taking care of herself while reading a curvy woman romance. Josh falls instantly but Reggie has a tall, thick wall built up and it takes patience to find their hea! This is the first book of a new series that links to Whisper Vally but doesn’t credit The Soulwink as the source of Josh and Reggie’s connection.

A Little (Bo) Peep Show One-handed readers everywhere know to close your windows, unless that's you're thing, but a little reminder never hurts. Regina and Josh have an embarrassing first meeting to overcome, not to mention Reggie was jilted at the freaking altar, so she also has to learn to trust again. Fortunately, Josh is patient and determined that she will trust in him, he knows their love is one for the books. Megan Wade books leave me with a smile on my face, ready to face the day ahead or leave it behind me if I'm reading before bed.
First time reading anything from this author but I’m definitely hooked!!! I read many types of books in many genres, but it’s always great to find that one author who delivers on the happily ever after with little drama. Sometimes I’m looking for a lighthearted book with that hallmark feel where it’s filled with lots of love, laughs and happiness. This book was exactly what I needed right now. It was so darn cute. Now I’m gonna start reading the rest of the series and the rest of her work. New Megan Wade Fan!!!
FMC healing from being left at the alter settles in a small farm community meets MMC while enjoying a book and a little self time. He begins the romancing by reading her romance books and sharing the content, realizing this is a guide to romance. They find their attraction growing as discussions of these books give them the opportunity to see each other on another light. Likes how the story took longer to evolve into a relationship that grew with strength to be real on both parts.
This was an excellent book to read! I was immediately drawn into Reggie and Josh’s story. Reggie has moved to the country to start over after a humiliating experience. Josh stumbles upon Reggie in the most embarrassing way. You’ll have to read the book to see how they meet! I laughed throughout this book and found it to be most amusing.

This was such a fun and funny romance. Reggie and Josh met under extremely embarrassing circumstances, well, embarrassing for her, anyway ;P He, however, wasn't willing to let that be the end of them. Lol! She needed some help to mend her broken heart and Josh, with his new love of romance books and trying out the spicy scenes within, was the perfect fit. Expect a cute and steamy read when you crack this one open...and three wonderful epilogues to keep their story going. Good fun!
This story has everything I like short readings. Funny, steamy, age-gap, good characters in an easy-to-read plot. Regina and Josh met in an unexpected way and through readings they were sharing, and getting to know each other better. Regina is new to the country and is trying to overcome her old life in the city and Josh is helping her. This story has HEA and what I love the most is the connection to other stories.
This was an adorable and hilarious read. I think Josh was so funny, I loved getting to read from his point of view. Reggie took some time to warm up to but she had been through something in her previous relationship. I loved Josh being persistent, I loved the chemistry and conversation between these two. Such a fun read.

Josh was fantastic. He stole the show. His farm boy charm and knowing what he wants from the start had me. Then add in his willing to do everything it took including waiting for Reggie to decide if she was ready. Perfect. His insightful ness to see she had a wall up and wanted to break it down no matter how long it took. Won me over.
Laugh out loud funny. And oh so steamy at the same time.

This was a fantastic, sweet and spicy story! When Regina is jilted at the alter she makes the decision to move into the country. She meets sheep farmer, Josh, while in a very compromising position. Their connection was instant but her embarrassment left her shy! Sweet, steamy, laugh of loud hilarious story with amazing chemistry, a determined, loving, protective hero and a beautiful HEA.
