Sunny Day's main preoccupation in life is reading and/or writing books, though she much prefers reading what someone else wrote. She is thirty something, single, and can usually be found attached to her laptop. Her only form of exercise is bouncing up and down when whatever story she is working on shapes well.
I'm sorry to say it, but this book just rubbed me the wrong way. It starts out as a traditional enough shifter story, focused on the plot and adding some hot sex. There is no real emotion beween the two main characters at all. About 2/3 of the way through pack politics, fighting with a rival pack and several attacks from an insulted ex-beta who should have been punished the first time, there was finally some hope for a deeper connection when Raphael finally admits River is his mate. And then it all turns to sh*t as River becomes truly nasty. Yes, he should have punished Raphael for hiding from him, but treating him like dirt, using the man's emotions against him, is just vile and uncalled for. It left me with a really sour taste and, I'm sorry to say, wishing I hadn't read this.
If you're not looking for a romance, or characters with some decency in them, you may like this book.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. The main characters had a just a little chemistry in the beginning. Just when it looked like they could develop something more River found out the Raphael was hiding the fact they were mates. He had his reasons and I agree with them. After this point though, River became and utter a**hole and started treating Raphael like sh*t!! He didn't want to listen to anything Raphael had to say and kept telling him to shut up and I do mean he kept saying shut up. He started threatening him and using his feelings against him. Even after all the drama was over and it was supposed to be time for the happy ending he was still threatening Raphael and that was his brand of "foreplay". I don't like that the book ended with River basically just using Raphael's body as a vessel and then told him "he liked it." It just felt all kinds of wrong.
On top of that, there were so many editing mistakes that it took away from the story for me.
This book was a waste of money for me. I ended up deleting it from my kindle.

I don't think that I can say it any better than Serena Yates did in her review. No emotion between the characters and Alpha River is just vile and offensive. I am not going to get into everything that I find wrong with this. If you want to know more Click Here.
When I read Serena Yates' review about this book, I was surprised because she doesn't easily give a bad review. And if she does, she tries to back it. Her review got me so intruiged, I had to buy the book and read it. And my lovely Serena, you were so right. I never expect high prose with these kind of shifter books, but like to read them for the easy-at-heart and light content, but this was terrible. The writing itself was not the problem, but the selfish mean alpha Riven who treated his mate in a inferior way that cannot be accepted and tolerated. I actually liked Riven, till 15% before the end of the book. He used his position as alpha against his mate and that's an absolute no-go! I mean, I NEVER would accept this behaviour from my mate.
I cannot say it better than Serena, so if you want to read her review, please click here.
Nothing more delicious than two male Alpha Werewolves. River Summers and Raphael Solis are the epitome of sexy males. The fact that they are both alphas make it even sexier. Even better is that they want each other. This was wonderfully done. The plot was exciting and had me turning the pages and wanting to read more.
Raphael Solis with his olive complexion, long as sin black hair and a sheriff to boot. What a naughty and delicious combo. Who doesn't love a man in uniform? And then we have River Summers with his blue eyes and blonde hair and very dominant attitude.
The fun thing about these two was that they were both Alphas, which made it sexy to see them confront one another. All that testosterone with lust mixed in makes for some great situations. I like the fact that both men were strong and that they gave in to the other when the other needed it. All in all this was a great read, I recommend it to anyone who loves Paranormal werewolves and male on male situations.
The only issue that I had with this book is the few typos I did notice. But otherwise, this book hits the spot for me. More, please, Sunny Day.
Five stars for lick-able and likable Alpha Werewolves.
so the blurb: a werewolf "outcast" from his pack met the new alpha. They got the hots for each others and went on to bump uglies. Turned out they were mates but one of them didn't realize it. Some baddies weren't happy. They proceeded to try causing problems. Typical of werewolf stories so yeah, the book wasn't bad nor was it good. I actually didn't understand the other reviews. I mean i read the reviews first and I was prepared for River abuse of his authority or the abuse of Raphael's feelings but I didn't see it when I read the book so i was left perplexed. Did I miss something? Did I read the wrong book by some unfathomable coincidence? Don't know. As for Raphael's lies, wasn't it explained that he wanted more time to deal with it? It's not written in so many words but it's kinda obvious. Nonetheless, they were some problems in the book. There were a few places were the story seems forced and the writing was awkward. It left a bad taste, that was I rate it a 2,5. It wasn't really original nor was it badly written overall.
(So to be clear, I rate such as this: -1 star: badly written , no edits to speak of, awful story. -2 star: good story, bad edits, poorly written in some places -3 star: good story, not really original but pleasant -4 star: good story, good writing...basically I loved it but I won't read it over and over. -4 star: I'll read that book over and over, it never gets old.)
I didn't care for this book at all. Usually I try to find something redeeming in books, even ones that I don't like.
Raphael has been, for all intents and purposes, kicked out of his pack for being gay. When a new alpha comes on board, he decides that he wants Raphael as both his beta and his lover.
Ok, so this is the premise. Normally this kind of this is something that I would enjoy as mindless reading (which is what I was looking for).
The problem was that the characters are barelly outlines both in content and just plain physical description. The story is basically linear, for which I was greatful, otherwise I would not have been able to follow anything at all. There were times I had to read back to try to figure out who was speaking and what exactly was happening. The editing in this book is attrocious, bad enough that it is definately distracting.
This was such a good read I really enjoyed Raphael and River's story it was well written with a few editing issues not enough to make you lose sight of the story and what's going on. But a couple sentences did need to be read again to realize the authors meaning other than that very good story telling. Likeable main characters and supporting stubbornness on both sides, secrets , family drama that kinda got resolved but you really weren't sure and pack drama inside and outside. I would have loved for this story to continue on so that we got a chance to see Raphael and his family really come together in forgiveness and also Riker the old alpha and Raphel's dad best friend needed to make amends to Raphael for the part he played in the rift as alpha he should of been unbiased but he wasn't and that added to the problem. I would also like to see if Len and the rest of the crew find their mates. A very good story 4.5 Stars.
typical sunny day serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical sunny day? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : sunny day lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
OMG how and why didn't I see these reviews before adding this book to my TBR pile?!? I would have never read it and been happier for it! This book pushed some of my 'do-not-go-there' buttons hard and rubbed me entirely the wrong way.
I don't think I've ever given a book this low of a rating and I always try to look for both the positive and negative aspects of every book I read. Having said that, I did enjoy the characters, but the connection was missing in this story. Also there was potential to be a good story, but it was in dire need of a good editing in order to become just that.
I am very impressed with this author, the editing was still good but I found that there was a few little issues that were almost cliche (the baddy was a bit pathetic) I also didnt think he explained why he tricked his mate (not enough of an explanation for me).
i like this i really do but it just didn't do much for me. at the end am like whats was the big secret ohhh hell no don't tell me its what happen accidentally, here i was hoping its to do with partial shifting.
I had so looked forward to this book based on it's description but the title character did not live up to expectations. Raphael, the sherrif, beta and title character had no depth.
