An anthology of twenty-five short works about the fearsome and awe-inspiring dinosaurs includes the writings of such popular authors as Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Martin Harry Greenberg was an American academic and speculative fiction anthologist. In all, he compiled 1,298 anthologies and commissioned over 8,200 original short stories. He founded Tekno Books, a packager of more than 2000 published books. In addition, he was a co-founder of the Sci-Fi Channel.

This book turned out to be a good collection, with evergreen classics like~ 1. Ray Bradbury's "The Fog Horn"; 2. Isaac Asimov's "Day of the Hunters"; 3. Arthur C. Clarke's "Time's Arrow"; 4. Poul Anderson's "Wildcat"; 5. Robert J. Sawyer's "Just Like Old Times" (just how many times did this tale get anthologised?); 6. L. Sprague de Camp's "A Gun for Dinosaur"; 7. Robert Silverberg's "Our Lady of the Sauropods". Unfortunately, there were almost an equal number of rubbish stories from big names, dragging the collection down. So all it manages to be is just 'good' and nothing more.
For the most part it's what it says on the tin, a collection of dinosaur-centered short stories. My only criticism is that I think better choices could have been made for some of the selections. Bradbury's "The Fog Horn" is lovely, but he has at least two other Dino-stories that would have fit the theme much more aptly.
You could tell which writers actually did research on dinosaurs before they wrote their story.
I was disapointed in some of the stories cause they bearly had anything to do with dinosaurs at all. Most were good though, some were sorta disterbing. Over all a good read.
I wish there was more good fiction out there about dinosaurs. Most of the ones I've found are loosly based about prehistoric creatures and there really isn't any thought put into them except for the fact that dinosaurs can eat people.
This book was pretty good compared to some others. Atleast the authors that contributed to this book were all fairly good writers, some better than others.
If you like dinosaurs and sci-fi this is a great quick read. I also find that reading a book of short stories by various authors is a good way to find new authors that you are interested in.
