Something horrible happened last night.

There's blood on the bumper of the old pickup, and Will's father thinks he might have hit something on the way home from the bar, but he isn't sure. When they hear that Joey Eagan was killed last night in a hit and run off Buzzard Roost Road, Will's old man vows to finally give up his heavy drinking.

But drying out takes a toll of its own.

Made into a short film by Writer/Director Robert Budreau and Lumanity Productions.

Tragic short story depicts what happens when guilt gets the best of you even if you don’t remember what if anything actually happened. Don’t drink and drive people.

Perfectly crafted

Like every story written by Mr. Silva, this work contains exactly the words needed to convey his meaning to the reader. No fewer, no excess, all carefully chosen. The late Mr. Silva was much more than a "genre" author.

I enjoyed this short read. This right here would make me swear off drinking. What guilt he had and what a position he put his son in only for it to end the way it did, how tragic!
