Honestly, I like the way Benefiel writes her characters. I love their relationships and can feel what they feel. I like her story weaving skills a lot as well. The three things that didn't bother me as much in the first book but unfortunatly annoyed the hell out of me in the last two...

1. Her grammar. Wow. Is it terrible. I wasn't an A student, no, but I did grow up with a Mom who corrected me a lot. I had a hard time getting past it. I hate when people in general use "I" instead of "me" because they THINK it s/b "I". As in "He called Avery and I over..." Look it up. It isn't that hard. As an author, I'd think this would be the first thing you'd want to know so you don't come off as uneducated.
Also, the use of past and present forms in a sentence. She switched constantly when a person was talking. Hire an editor?!? Actually take some writing classes?!?

2. I was confused frequently over who was speaking at the time. It was hard to follow and therefore annoying having to re-read everything.

3. The pace. I don't know if I'm upset because she explains things too little or because she just writes about silly little information we really don't need to know. Such as where people sat on the bus. It was totally inconsequential. She does this a lot- worse so in the last book. The way she writes makes some scenes (always the endings) come off as bing, bang, boom and done!

Really though, for the low price I got these books- they are fun reads. They're very quick and enjoyable. Everyone gets happy endings and the relationships feel real- that being what seems to draw me most to books. I liked the series a lot. It was just those annoying things that stopped the last two books from being four stars for me.

This is the third book in the Zellie Well’s trilogy, and kicks off where book 2 ‘Glimmer’ left off.
**Warning – some unavoidable spoilers for books 1 and 2 ‘Glimpse’ and ‘Glimmer’.**
Zellie and Avery have found the loophole that means that they get to be together, but they still have the problem of Mildred, who is planning on using mind control to bend the will of retroacts to her own nefarious plans.
Can Zellie and the crew stop her before it’s too late? How many possible retroacts can Ben locate before Mildred gets to them? And how far will Zellie be pushed before it’s all over?

This was an interesting end to the series, although once again I was dubious over how many super-powers one girl could have.

Zellie’s powers had grown exponentially in this instalment, and she was rewinding people all over the place. Melody was still acting as lookout, and seemingly doing a good job of it, while we didn’t really hear all that much from Avery. Zellie really did just pick up super powers like she was shopping on amazon and pressing that ‘1-click’ button, which was a tad unbelievable.

The storyline was okay, although I have to admit that I kept forgetting that the overall plan was to deal with Mildred, as Ben’s group and Zellie’s group both seemed to be focusing on other things. When we actually got the showdown with Mildred it happened quite quickly, as suddenly Zellie knew where she was!
The romance in this one was a bit different, in that Zellie and Avery were already together, and the romance in this was mostly about other people other than Zellie, which was okay, but nothing wonderful.
The ending was alright, and I was glad that everything was tied up. I’d say that overall this series was only okay though, nothing amazing for me unfortunately.
Overall; an okay ending to the trilogy.
6 out of 10.

few friends of mine have experienced the frustration and time-consuming process of what it is to type on a nook tablet, and were it not for the disappointment i suffered while reading GLOW i wouldnt even bother.

but no. it was painful, so here i go.

in the other two books before this, the writing was dispensible at best and the plot so ridiculous as to be laughable, but it was the magic and emotional investment that kept me interested.

i had avery and zellie's fate to concern myself with as seemingly every force in the seen and unseen world worked to keep them apart. but on the side lines, i had ben (who was the only known male retroact). i had melody (who was just generally a great sister to zellie through and through). i also had the parent drama (which, while terribly awkward, was still tied to zellie). and i had claire (who was a better friend than i thought she would be).

here, i had nothing related to zellie at all. in a series named after her, i expected to see more of her. and the whole thing, in addition to being executed haphazardly, felt needlessly dragged out among like 5 different viewpoints. zellie's air time slowly dwindled until she was but a kinor character in her own story.

and thats just no fun.

it was WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON all over again. worst end to a series ever with boring bunny trails and scatter-brained story lines. no thank you.

I read the whole trilogy and this was probably my least favorite. It just didn't grab me like I hoped. I was just expecting more in the final book. I did enjoy Claire, Zellie, Melody and Avery, though!

Why I Read this Book: I really enjoyed reading Glimpse and Glimmer, the first two books in the trilogy. Glow is the conclusion I’ve been waiting for. I really wanted to know how things were going to pan out for Zellie and find out how the villain was going to be defeated.

What I Liked: One thing I have really enjoyed about this series is the unique paranormal world and characters the author has created. It’s interesting and different. Zellie can see glimpses into the future. The first glimpse she got (in the first book of the trilogy) turned her world upside down – she saw how the boy she loves is going to die. She has been able to get a handle on her supernatural power more and more with each novel and now she can better pin-point the day her glimpses will actually take place.

Let’s talk POV narration. In Glimpse, it was easy for me to establish who’s POV I was reading from. In Glimmer, it was a bit confusing at times. With Glow, only Zellie’s POV was told in 1st person while POVs for Melody, Christopher and Ben were told in 3rd person. It was easy to follow and I didn’t feel lost. Another thing the author did that I liked was italicize the glimpses. It made it easy for me to distinguish between current time and glimpses. It’s a small thing but it enabled me to enjoy my reading experience a bit more.

It was nice that Melody got a love interest of her own. She’s only 15 so it was more of a crush than an actual relationship. I’m glad the author didn’t force a relationship between them. Speaking of secondary characters, I also got to know a bit more about Ben and his family situation.

What I Didn’t Like: I felt lost and confused at times – like I was missing something. I don’t understand how Zellie and Melody came to the conclusions they did about people who appeared in Zellie’s glimpses and the roles those particular people played. There was also a lot going on in Glow; there are some confusing storylines surrounding most of the characters and it kind of hindered my reading experience trying to keep track of it all. It felt like the author was trying to make each and every single character interesting by throwing in twists. For me, it just got too confusing and it was hard for me to keep up on everyone.

The ending was a bit anti-climatic for me. The problem with the villain was solved a bit too easily. It was a bit too convenient that Zellie knew exactly what needed to be done and how it had to be done.

This trilogy is marketed as a YA read but I would venture to say it should be for the over 16 crowd. There were parts that made me think I was reading an adult romance novel. And for me to read these things in a YA novel left me feeling a bit uncomfortable. There was mention of “instant nips” and Avery hoisting Zellie up onto the hood of a car. And this part:

“Nah. All I wanted to do today was spend time with you and that’s what I got.” He chuckled. “Life with you is an adventure, Zel. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Still, I’m sure this isn’t what you had in mind,” I said, grinning. “I’ll have to make it up to you.”

Avery licked his lips, his eyes devouring me. “Oh, I’m sure you will.”

Overall Impression: The Zellie Wells trilogy started off with a bang but left a bit to be desired with its final installment. I think I would have enjoyed Glow a bit more had I read all three books back to back. Overall, I enjoyed reading this trilogy and I’m interested to see what this author comes up with next.

I love Zellie.
Why do you have to leave me? (sniff)
This third book does exactly what a final book should: wraps up the series, but leaves enough room for the universe Stacey W Benefiel created in Glimpse to live on. The issues Zellie and crew have grappled with in Glimpse and Glimmer (loyalty, love, morality, family) come to fruition in Glow.
I really love this series; Glimpse was one of the very first Kindle Ya series I picked up when I first got my ereader. I admit I read this last book more slowly than the others because I really didn't want to leave Zellie and Avery and their world behind. But the series ends in a great place: there are some amazing twists, both with plot and characters. Readers of the series know that Zellie (along with Benjamin and most of the other Retro crew) wants her revenge against Mildred, and this gets dealt with nicely. To call the Retros divided and corrupt when the books starts is an understatement, so the Rosedale crew really has their work cut out for them. I LOVE the way this gets dealt with in the end. I was thrilled with this twist- don't want to say too much, but I wish I could go to!
There were some surprises with the characters and their relationships, as well. Mel especially came of age in this book as we meet a sexy new bad(ish) boy. :) Benjamin showed both courage and compassion in the face of some unsettling surprises. And of course, there's Avery. (Squee!)
One of the things I admire most about Benefiel's writing shines in Glow: she tackles issues important to young adults head-on, like sexuality and birth control without sounding preachy. Example: in Glow, a conversation about responsible sex, monogamy, and birth control is a really tender moment between sisters who care about each other. We really need more writers who are capable (and unafraid) of writing YA that's both entertaining and meaningful.
A great end to a great series!

Glow was the last book in the Zellie Wells series and I'm sad to see it go. I'm a bit disappointed with this last book too. It's not that it wasn't good because it was, I'm glad to see that everything worked out but I'm just a little stunned. It got really confusing in some parts and this book flipped between too many characters point of view. It was hard for me to keep up with at times and I found myself rereading things at times which is something I don't enjoy doing. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and I'm sad to say goodbye to all of the wonderful characters in this book.

We finally get to meet Connor, Ben's trigger, and I think Melody finally gets a sort of happy ending even though we don't get a ton of information on the relationship she makes with a new character named Raleigh. This book was still packed with action and crazy twists and turns that surprised me like the first two books and I loved that. This book had some decent humor in it too regarding Aunt Hazel and a man named Roger. We also get to see Zellie sort of take charge and try to protect everyone with Melody and Melody only. It was kind of different but I liked it. Everyone get their own little happy ending in Glow, I really wish we could have learned more about everyone's lives after the craziness simmered down but I can accept how it ended without being royally irritated with the book. If you read the first and enjoyed them you have to read the last book to find out what happens!

I recommend this series even though the ending wasn't all that I expected, all three books are affordable and enjoyable reads.

I have been looking forward to Glow for months now and couldn't wait to find out how Zellie's story ends. I have really enjoyed this trilogy and think that the premise is so unique and interesting.

But, Glow felt lacking for me. I had a hard time remembering a lot of what happened in the first two books and found myself wishing Benefiel had included a summary to refresh my memory. I ended up reading my previous reviews, which helped me remember a few of the specifics. But what helped me the most was talking to The Book Vixen, who read the book at the same time as me. That was fun, TBV, and I hope we do it again! Talking about books with other bloggers is the best part of blogging, don't you agree?

Anyway, back to Glow. After feeling confused for the first half to two-thirds of the book, I could not overcome those feelings to really get into the story. I do think that this series would be a great read if you were able to read all three books back-to-back. I liked the way Benefiel wrapped up each character's story, with concrete resolution for everyone. I liked the relationships between characters, and the character growth. I just wish that I would have read all three books in a row to keep the story fresh in my mind.

Bottom line: The Zellie Wells trilogy is a unique YA paranormal read. Read all three books together to get the best reading experience.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I love this author. This world is so rich and wonderful that I wish there were way more books in this series/world. The love stories that we get to see glimpses of throughout the trilogy are all so wonderful and different that I wish everyone had their own book!

This book finishes out the Zellie Wells Trilogy and we finally see the end of the obligatory “big bad.” There was also a lot of wrap up and pairing off of characters that warmed my heart and had me grinning while reading. A lot of characters get a POV in this one, which is probably why I wasn’t as in love with it as I was the previous ones. Too much jumping around tends to take me out of the story a little bit. I still loved this book for what it brought to the characters I’ve come to love. I was sighing and laughing along with them every step of the way.

If you’re looking for a good, unique paranormal YA series – you should read this trilogy. It really hooked me from book 1 and totally delivered. Completely self-contained and awesome, I wish more people would read these books. Then they could fall in love with these fabulous characters, too!

This was a sad book for me. Not because of the plot, but because it is the end to a series I did not want to see finished. I still feel like there's another book waiting to be carved out for this series, but I suppose everything has to end eventually.

I loved the finish. There is so much action in this book, it will definitely not let you down. There was a short time in the middle I was bummed that so many homosexual men were being murdered, but since they weren't as integrated into the story as the main characters, I was able to overlook it.

I think I may have to read this again!

This was the most confusing of the series but really brought a finality to it as well. The story is now finished and we don't really need toworry about Zellie and her friends and family anymore. I am intrigued by the authors writing style as it is almost too lacks. I wish it was a little better edited in that sense but otherwise I definitely enjoyed the whole series!

I could see this as a TV series, maybe on the family channel, ala Quantum Leap or the Medium...each week Zel & Mel have to rewind a different situation with varying levels of complexity and/or personal significance. Add cute boyfriends, beautiful settings, various recurring characters. I think it's a hit!

Well I couldn't pry my kindle from my hands to put the book down two and a half hours ago. So you know it has to be really good! I loved this trilogy, it had twists, turns, unexpected scenes as well as a great ending that almost brought me to tears... Wonderful writing skills as well as answers to all my questions. I would suggest this trilogy to many!

This was a great series. I enjoyed it, even though I found several typos throughout the books. I thought the ending could have been fleshed out more. It may just be me, but I didn't get what Zellie's dad was laughing at in the final pages of the book. All in all a good read that just needed a few little tweaks.

Number 3 of the series was a great conclusion, all of my questions were answered, the characters were wrapped up and seemed to mature along with the story line. I thought it drew to a good close. I enjoyed reading the last installment.

I think this was the best in the series! The lady in the 'Orange House" did a great job! The characters have all matured, and the 'acceptance' theme for many topics made the book even better! I think I first thought this was strictly a YA series, hmmm, maybe not!

I had a blast reading this! Reminds me a lot of Kate Kaynak’s Ganzfield series, in a good way – it’s not normally the genre I’d read at all. But any YA with hints of romance, I can get into!
