A good book on theory but there were a few too many times when the content was overwritten and unnecessarily complicated. And while Rapaport does a nice job of covering all the high points, he is heavy-handed with some theories and glosses over others. But all and all, a slightly above average book on theory. I wouldn't recommend this for beginners in the field but if you've been introduced to this subject, this isn't a bad book. I think this is best when coupled with other books on theory and criticism.
