When I got my last computer, I was surprised to find it completely baffling. I was kind of a power user of OS 9 and lower, but I had no idea how to work OS X, and it was the opposite of intuitive. The Missing Manual transformed my frustration into admiration and love. So here I am with another new computer, only moving from 10.5 to 10.7 this time, yet equally frustrated, baffled, and annoyed. WTF, Apple? This shouldn't be that hard. So I turned to The Missing Manual, and sure enough, my frustration is turning into admiration and love. Thank you, David Pogue!

Checked out the sample before I bought this, and found the answers to two of my most plaguing irritations in the first half (of the sample!).

This book has definitely done its job, even though I didn't read anywhere near all of it. Now that I understand it, I <3 my new Mac, especially the Magic Trackpad.
