If it hadn't been for the prologue introducing the story in a unique way, I might've quit reading early on. Starting off the main book with Brynn heading into a women's clinic would have normally induced me to shut the book. Brynn's continued feeling of regret for her decision (a miscarriage prevented her from following through on the abortion) helped me feel more comfortable with the novel. I liked Kristin's treatment of the theme. Even though THE TRAIT starts with the consequences of premarital relations, the story you read is clean with no sex scenes. If you like futuristic books with elements of romance, you will probably like this book. I am planning to read the rest of the series.

Bummer, I was seduced by another book in action/sci-fi movie's clothing. It was kind of X-Men-ish with more focus on a budding romance. I do have to highlight my disappointment with the author's lack of research in the area of medical treatment. The person that a character saw for a fracture is a physician assistant, not a physician's assistant, furthermore, a PA would be able to treat her patient independently, and, for crying out loud I have never, ever heard of something called a "hematoma block" that is given to a patient for pain control before reducing a fracture. That whole scene read much like a medical soap opera.

I was a little leary about this book at first, thinking it would turn into just another werewolf or vampire story. I was pleasantly surprised that I was mostly wrong and I am glad that I followed through with the book. I really enjoyed the read as there was just enough action mingled with just enough romance to keep me from being able to put the book down. I am looking forward to the next in the series. I received this book from the Goodreads giveaway.

This was an absolutely FANTASTIC book! While at first I was a bit worried that it was just another knock of YA werewolves and vampires type of book I was very pleasantly surprised. After the first two chapters I was unable to put it down. It lead me to an evening curled up on the couch with a kitty, a cup of tea and The Trait. Perfect.

I am really looking forward for the next book in this series to come out!

I absolutely loved The Trait. It was a light but interesting read that was just realistic enough to make me ask, "Could this really happen?"
I'm now in love with Creed and I can’t wait to read about what happens to him and the affected in the rest of the books. I'm beyond excited that this is a series!

What a great book! I totally thought it was going to be about vampires and was so grateful that the writer spun it a totally different direction. I will be reading all of Kristen Damon's books! It's been awhile since a novel captivated my attention, I literally could not put it down! Love love love! Great work girl!

This was actulLy a pretty decent story. A bit of a twist on the run of the mill paranormal genre. The story between brynn and creed moved along well. They left room for future stories with other characters or Brynn & Creed. The POV changes were a little bit different for me, and maybe it was a narrator more than first person. IDK but it was a good book.

So I downloaded this because it was free. It has mostly 4-5 star reviews but honesty the description is written so poorly that I have no idea what this is even about. But whatevs, maybe I'll get to it. Head up though, *no sex scenes! :(

This book had me from the very first line. Found myself engulfed in Creed and Brynn lives, couldn't stop reading it for wanting to find out what was going to happen next. Looking forward to reading the next installment The Promise.
