Jerome sighed and set down his fork. "Are you still doing that, Georgie? Don't I suffer enough without having to endure the humiliation of a succubus who moonlights as a Christmas elf?"
"You always said I should quit the bookstore and find something else to do," I reminded him.
"Yes, but that was because I thought you'd go on to do something respectable. Like become a stripper or the Mayor's mistress.”
Jerome shrugged. “We’re back to the part where I don’t give a fuck.”Succubus Revealed begins a bit slowly but it concludes the series in a satisfying way. I had spotted the clues Mead had laid out since book #3 so there are only minor surprises instead of shocking twists for me.
“Please don’t get sentimental,” said Jerome. “It’s nauseating.”I have to agree with Jerome but I want to include one more excerpt.
“Do you know the price of one soul, Georgina?”
Vivian: I just wanna know who it works out for. You give me one example of somebody that we know that it happened for.
[They start talking over each other.]
Kit: Name someone? You want me to name someone?
Vivian: Yeah, you know a person that it's worked for.
Kit: You want me to, like, give you a name, or something?
Vivian: Yeah, I'd like a name.
Kit: Oh, God, the pressure of a name… Cinde-fucking-rella!
"It's an easy thing for me to do that can help a lot of people," I said. "No reason not to."
He shook his head, incredulous. "You shouldn't even need a technicality to escape Hell's reach. They should fire you out of principle."
