Basic Arrhythmias [with Resource Central EMS Student Access Code]

Rate this book
"Basic Arrhythmias, Seventh Edition" gives beginning students a strong basic understanding of the common, uncomplicated rhythms that are a foundation for further learning and success in electrocardiography. The first eight chapters, which can be used as self-instruction, cover basic electrophysiology, waves and measurements, rhythm analysis, and the five major groups of arrhythmias. "Basic Arrthymias" then introduces cardiac anatomy, clinical manifestations, 12-lead electrocardiography, and cardiac pacemakers. This new Seventh Edition program features "mybradykit," an online site providing extensive study resources, learning tools, and interactive exercises. An access code to mybradykit is provided in the front of the text.

Pretty good book, easy to follow and lots of practice problems. The book even gives flash cards in the back to practice. Great book and format!

If you're going to study ECGs, start with this book. A good, solid, basic introduction. Do NOT do what I did and read Tomas Garcia's book first; this should definitely come first.

The book comes with flashcards, which are very useful in studying. There are a lot of practice strips - some of which had interpretations that did not match the rules described in the book (hence the four-star rating). But the only way to learn to do this is to practice, and having over 350 practice strips lets you practice quite a bit.

It does focus on a single lead (did I mention that it's the first book to study?), and the 12-lead section is only an introduction. I can't start to how well it serves that purpose as I read Garcia first.

The repetition was helpful. I liked the “fill in the blank” reading style.
