Storm Warning

Rate this book
Emily and her dog, Zack, have a special bond. But it's more than that―they can read each other's minds. Even more surprising, Zack knows when people are in trouble. Now, Emily and Zack are able to use their powers to save lives, though Emily is endangering hers in the process and making her parents worry. When a hurricane warning is issued, everyone in town starts preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best. What are the odds of a hurricane actually hitting a small town in Maine? Emily and Zack can't see into the future, so they don't know what's going to happen, but if the hurricane does come and the worst does happen, are a girl and her dog enough to save a town from the destructive power of Mother Nature?

Dog Whisperer: Storm warning by Nicholas Edwards was a interesting book. It started a little boring but as I got closer to where she believes a storm is coming then it gets interesting. Emily and her dog are together and they think they could save peoples lives. If you like mysteries then you should get this book.

Definitely an elementary/middle school read. Only reading to finish the series since it’s been on my bookshelf, and wanted to preview it for my kids to read in the future, but definitely not something I’d choose to read for myself.

Emily and her dog, Zachery, have a special power. Its not really a power but more like a gift. Her dog has senses far greater then humans so he can feel when something is wrong or he could hear someone calling from a longways away. How Emily finds out about this? They can read each others minds by popping images into their heads making Emily a true Dog Whisperer. The first time Zach hears a man calling that is stuck under a car that is collapsing, he dashes off towards their neighbor to help him. Emily is incredibly brave and rushes under the car to help dig sand out to get him out. They were eventually successful. Later in the book Zachery senses a storm is coming a big one. During the storm they help everyone they can. They successfully save many people from the tsunami.
This book I think is for everyone it is exciting! There are lots of events that would amaze you. Last of all who doesn't like a heroic dog that is friendly to everyone.

Sad. You know what else is sad? I don't even have the first book. Like I told you, Sad. I don't find the book in general sad, more of a This-heroic-dog-saves-peoples-lives-even-in-a-storm-with-a-bad-leg kind of story.

I thought that Dog Whisperer: Storm Warning was pretty good. I read the first book in this series and thought it was really good so I thought I would like the second book too (this one). My favorite part was when Emily and Zack save people. I think Emily and I relate to each other quite a bit because we both love animals and are vegetarian. After I finished reading it, I decided that it was okay, but not as good as the first one. Overall, it was a pretty good book. If I could change one thing, I would add a little more action to the beginning of the story. Nothing happened until the storm started.

Dog Whisperer: Storm Warning is about a girl named Emily and her dog, Zack, who can read each other's minds. Emily and Zack save people's lives when they are in trouble. There is a rumor that a hurricane is coming, which is very rare for one to hit Bailey Cove. The storm hits and everyone goes to the safety shelter. Everyone is there except Emily's parents. She gets nervous and sends Zack out to find them. Zack finds her parents, and the only reason they couldn't make it to the shelter was because a tree fell on top of their car. They are fine except Emily's dad has a twisted ankle. After the Hurricane, everyone goes home and all the houses are destroyed. They don't say anything after that. It was kind of strange.

Feb. 2012 Book Fair selection
This is the second book in the series - the first one was at the Book Fair about a year ago. You can start this series at any point.
Emily and her dog, Zack, have a special connection. There are things that Zack sees, that he can communicate to Emily. Zack seems to be drawn towards people who need help, and he's always ready to assist. That often puts Zack and Emily in harrowing situations, albeit heroic ones! By the middle of the book, Zack and Emily have helped several people from dangerous, if not life-threatening, situations. However the real danger is yet to come... a hurricane is heading to their port city in Maine. Emily has to help save herself, her pets and her family.
Both boys and girls will enjoy this thrilling story. A new series to enjoy!

When I read this book I loved it so much however I didn't realize that I was read the second book and it all made sense to me so if you wanted to read this book you wouldn't have to read the first one, however now that I have found the next book I am reading that and would recommend that to everyone. I would recommend the whole series to everyone that likes weather drama and excitement because it was a good mix. I give this book a 4 star rate because I personally love weather drama and excitement.
