Born and Raised in the United Kingdom, Sensei Mark started Martial Arts at age 11, after being bullied at school. Under the watchful eye of such famous Martial Artists as Sensei Kenosuki Enoeda and other members of the JKA (Japanese Karate Association) he eventually joined the British Army at the ripe old age of 16. As a Royal Engineer he was able to continue his training not only in Karate, but in boxing, Judo and Kick boxing. After serving his country in West Germany and the Falkland Islands he decided to work in personal security as a civilian. A year later purchasing a one way ticket to the United States with a fellow ex soldier they made their way to Northern California where Sensei Mark has been teaching and studying Martial Arts ever since. 35 years later having raised a family and now having second and 3rd generation students coming to the Dojo it has been a true blessing. With his wife Jamie they are now involved in the foster care system doing their best to change as many young lives in a positive way as possible.
