The Real RFK Jr.: Trials of a Truth Warrior

Rate this book
An epic biography filled with drama, conflict, and surmounted challenges.

The Real RFK Jr. is an intimate biographical portrait examining the controversial activist's journey from anguish and addiction to becoming the country's leading environmental champion fighting government corruption, corporate greed, and a captured media. Written by his longtime colleague Dick Russell, the biography also exposes the misconceptions and explains the rationale behind Kennedy's campaign to protect public health.

Provided exclusive source material, including access to Kennedy’s unpublished writings and personal journals, the author conducted dozens of interviews with him as well as numerous friends and associates. Russell delves into everything from Kennedy’s sometimes death-defying river rafting adventures to his pioneering legal cases against polluters such as Smithfield Foods and Monsanto, while founding the world’s largest water protection group. The Real RFK Jr. also examines Kennedy’s pursuit of the truth about the assassinations of his father and uncle, the wrongful murder conviction of his cousin, and the false narratives around the COVID-19 pandemic.

WHAT A HUNK. This biography on Robert F. Kennedy Junior paints the story of a wonderful wonderful wonderful man. RFK Jr. is the first, and probably last, democrat to move me. He fights for the environment (in a smart rational non whiney way). He fights for child health (vaccines). And he fights to have a voice in a world that works overtime to censor him (Facebook, Google, Twitter). If President Trump were not running for president, then RFK Jr. would have my vote. Four stars due to several typographical errors.

Somehow, we've lost America on the way..

"My father thought of America as the last best hope for humanity. He believed we had a historical mission to be a paragon to the rest of the world, to be about what human beings can accomplish if they work together and maintain their focus. He was never afraid of debate; he was willing to debate with Communists because he believed this country's ideas were so good that we shouldn't be scared of meeting with anybody."

"It is the fantastic bravery of along line of stalwarts like Joshua Chamberlain, and their love of principle, their commitment to ideals, and their willingness to sacrifice, which has defined our people and guided our nation's destiny."

"The rampant corruption and lack of accountability that he saw wherever he looked pained him deeply."

"Sure enough, at breakneck speed we have devolved from the world's exemplary democracy to a militarized tyrannical police state squirming under the heel of the Big Data, Big Telecom, the Medical Cartel and the Military/ Industrial/Intelligence Apparatus."

"The only thing a government needs to make people slaves is fear. If you can figure out something to make them scared, you can make them do anything you want."

But also, I don't understand how after all this he still supports Israel 😶‍🌫️

I've started reading this book, and I'm glad I got it, as anything politically focused, typically, would not be my thing. I have read books by the author Dick Russell; My Mysterious Son, and I'm on the 2nd volume of The Life and Times of James Hillman. Dick Russell does a great job of making what might appear to be a seemingly mundane subject (for my interests,) jump to life - like and interesting and compelling novel. The RFK Jr. book conveys emotion and is very insightful into the big players in and out of politics, family relations, history, censorship, corruption, environment/nature, it speaks of his moral courage and shows his spiritual views, travels and experiences. The book contains unpublished writings and personal journals, interviews with RFK JR., family members, friends and colleagues all running fluidly together by Dick's narration. It's an inspiring story and I think it's an important book to read given America's rapid decline, and with questions looming if the remnants of Democracy can be brought back to life.

I chose this book because I kept hearing the controversy surrounding Robert Kennedy, Jr., our current Secretary of Health and Human Services. Author Dick Russell examines Kennedy’s forty years as the country’s most prominent environmental advocate and more recently his role in defending public health in this biography.
My opinion of RFK Jr. developed into something positive as I made my way through the book. By the final chapter, I could sympathize with all the traumatic experiences that he had to endure while on display for critical public scrutiny. Reading about his ethics and empathy (which cost him dearly), I felt myself softening to his position. I discovered a newfound respect after "hearing" his life, activism, and career choices from a trusted environmental journalist who isn't in Big Pharma's pocket.

Brilliant and Inspiring

I’m in awe of such an incredible human being. The brilliance of the author demonstrating his own literary genius quoting some of the most influential people like Upton Sinclair Langston Hugh’s Camus Dr Martin Luther King to name a few, while giving us true insight into RFK,jr character and how his character was shaped. The biggest question this book raised to me is America karmically able to elect such an incredible human being into the presidency which will have a profoundly positive impact on the entire world or are we doomed to enter a downward spiral of corporate fascism where true freedom will be once again destroyed and propel us back into a new type of dark ages of disease and ignorance.

If i could give those 0 stars i would, i chose to read this book as a way to understand the ideology of MAHA and what unfolded within the first paragraph was lies. All the claims made in this book are proved false with scientific evidence. And giving public health power to this man is dangerous, we are on the precipice of eugenics and genocide, and all the believers in this fake book give the same energy as the Germans who supported Josef Mangele of nazi germany.

I gave up on this book half-way through Chapter 3. The author made so many references to Bobby's book, "American Values," which I had already read, that I was wondering if he had anything else to add other than fluff. The answer, "nope."

Bobby's book, referenced in the first paragraph, is great. Go read that and ignore this book.

Fascinating & Revealing Book

Read this book! This fascinating book details the threat of Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Farms, Big Government,h and the Military Industrial Complex. RFK Jr. has been a truth seeker through it all and must be considered a true hero for his efforts.
