This book is not an academic history - there are errors here and there - but it is a great read. I especially loved the anecdotes the author has collected about different parts, districts, and streets of Tokyo. I will look at the city I love through slightly different eyes because of this.

Found this at Black & Read (a Denver-area used book, CDs, etc. store), and picked it up. I guess it's pretty rare (and expensive...holy crap!), so I guess that's pretty lucky. Anyway, just started it, but I'm looking forward to it.
