I rarely give one star reviews. With this book, I should have stopped when about 20% in I found myself worrying that my eyes were going to continue rolling if I put the book down.
I get that this is supposed to be a nice quick read. It was a quick.
Here is my problem. This book had no substance. Frankie was completely oblivious to the things happening around her. It was so annoying that even with Neil pointing out the obvious, she was still missing the boat and going about with her scheme.
Her scheme? What the heck was that about? She was so incredibly self-centered and selfish through the entire book. I just couldn't relate or understand her at all. It wasn't only in her "I must find a man who will take care of me and put a baby in my womb" and her daddy issues. It was in the way she conducted herself professionally as well. From the description in the book she is supposed to be a professional who doesn't break ethical boundaries, but that scheme she pulled with the Stimpson's....completely hypocritical of who she is supposed to be. I'll be honest, I just didn't like her and her attitude of "only a rich man can be the right man for me and then I will be taken care of and have a great life since my daddy left me behind". Oh and her list of eligible men she will work her way through...I have no words.
The 3 male characters (not Neil) just seemed thrown together with no substance other than they were HOT and newly single (or widowed). They had stories of course, but again, it just didn't work for me.
I did like Neil. He was the only character in the book I liked and he should have kept looking for a girl who wasn't crazy.
Next time I'll be a bit more careful when picking up free books.

It's a raining early morning, and I'm feeling under the weather. so what better thing to do then read. SInce I'm also definitely not feeling at my best, what better story to read then a cinderella story.
Based on the title I thought I was going to be a modern day cinderella story, with the step-sisters and step-mother included. I was wrong. It is a story about a married woman, who after twelve years of marriage finds her world crumbling around her (I don't want to give too much away).
So, she creates a list of the things she thinks she wants "a baby, marriage (she stille believes in it), a rich, sucessful man, someone to take care of her." She then makes a list of the possible men that would be able to meet her criteria, and she starts putting her plan into action. However, things don't seem to go according to her perfect plan (and maybe that's a good thing).

In the interest of full disclosure, however, I will admit to being disappointed with formatting problems that appeared almost every time there was dialogue. In spite of that, however, it was an easy enjoyable read, filled with humor and a glimpse into the "conspicuous consumption" lifestyle of South Floridians.

Pretty good
A bit silly, the main character doesn't have a clue but thinks she does. Writes a set of criteria for her ideal man and sets about finding him.

Potts has invented some fun characters in this one. The friends and acquaintances surrounding Frankie Wunder make the story very enjoyable. Frankie's line-up of unsuitable (and funny) dates hit a tad too close to home, making me wonder if the author had peeked into my journal.
The Miami/Aventura settings and inhabitants are well used and make me so happy I don't live there. Sorry, Miami people - I know you love it, but I can't handle the insanity - Palm Beach County is crazy enough. I do love to read about Miami, though, and Potts captures the nuttiness of South Florida with an expert touch.

When Frankie Wunder discovers her husband cheating on her with a billboard bimbo, she pursues a divorce and a man to father her child with the same alacrity. Unfortunately, she has to kiss a lot of frogs before she meets her prince. What she thinks she wants—a guy who is rich, steadfast, and who will take care of her—isn’t necessarily what fate has in store. She has to learn more about herself before she can cast aside her illusions and find true love. South Beach Cinderella is a hilarious contemporary story about searching for love in all the wrong places.

I downloaded this book for free.
It was a cute book. Some points I felt moved really slow where as other parts seemed to fly by. I liked most of the characters but could already read most of them before she could and I would cringe as she made one bad choice after another. I am still sure how I feel about the ending, it might of been too cute but then again this was like a modern fair tail and well those are too cute.
Over all I enjoyed this quick read.

I generally don't like romantic comedy movies, but I'm finding myself drawn to chick lit in the worst kind of way. Books like this are one of the reasons I'm so drawn. This was a quick and easy read, nothing too difficult, but fluffy and light enough to enjoy for a weekend read. I could easily see this book played out on the screen.

I thought this was a cute and charming book. Nothing deep or tacking on the brain but we all need that sometimes. I liked all the characters, especially Neil. I thought the chemistry between him & Frankie was great.

I liked the book. At times I could not put it down and at other times I wanted to throw the book across the room. I do like the meaning behind the story. Sometimes people have to see the truth before it smacks them in the face.

Needed an easy, happy read, between South of Bixby Bridge, and the next book club selection, People of the Book, by Geraldine Brooks. This one fit the bill nicely! A quick, easy read...

I really liked this book. It was interesting, funny and an almost perfect chick lit. I was a bit surprised that the ending was so fast though.

This is fairly predictable. Frankie is a bit annoying, and the supporting characters are fairly one-dimensional. But it served its purpose as a fun, mindless read.
