She’s sassy, intelligent and strong, and she’s had enough of men trying to run her life. Problem is, she needs a man – and quick – to be the non-existent fiancé she’s been bragging about to the family. Enter Drake Alexander, hired with the best of credentials from a top-notch acting association. Only he’s not exactly what she’s ordered…
He’s rich, powerful and just a little bit arrogant, and he doesn’t need any more women running after his billions. Problem is, he’s stuck in the storm of the century in some hole-in-the-wall town. Banging on the door of a local, the last thing he expects is to be greeted by a beautiful woman ranting about how he’s the preposterously late actor she’s been expecting. Yet for some reason, he lets her believe the lie….
Kaitlyn has no choice but to accept Drake as her pretend fiancé, even though he invades her thoughts and unsettles her life. Worse yet, continues to play his role even when her family is not around! Soon they’re planning a pretend wedding, getting closer and closer to “I do.” Sparks fire and suspicions soar, but everything changes when…
Undercover Billionaire bursts into the narrative like a lightning strike in a tux, electrifying a tiny town and two stubborn hearts with the kind of chaos that refuses to wait its turn.
This novella is fake‑fiancé pandemonium wrapped in storm‑side drama and accidental billionaire nonsense. Kaitlyn is fierce, fed up, and absolutely done with men trying to steer her life like she’s a side character in her own story. She invents a fiancé to keep her family off her back, and all she needs is a simple, affordable actor to play the part. Instead, the universe delivers Drake Alexander — a billionaire who is absolutely not the man she ordered, soaked from the storm of the century, and knocking on her door like fate has a twisted sense of humour.
She mistakes him for the actor. He lets her believe it. And suddenly they’re trapped in a lie that snowballs faster than either of them can breathe.
Drake doesn’t need more women chasing his money, but Kaitlyn isn’t chasing anything except survival. He steps into the role with infuriating confidence, and he keeps playing the part even when her family isn’t around — which is suspicious, unsettling, and dangerously intimate. Before long they’re planning a pretend wedding, standing too close, thinking too much, and spiralling into that delicious “oh no, feelings” territory.
The tension builds until the truth finally detonates — flipping everything upside down and forcing them to confront what’s real and what’s been real all along. It’s chaotic, warm, funny, messy, and soaked in that addictive fake‑fiancé energy where the line between acting and wanting blurs until neither of them can pretend anymore.
A 4.5‑star romantic whirlwind — fast, fun, chaotic, and dripping with that delicious “I didn’t order this man but now he’s ruining my emotional stability” energy.
Florida man pretends to be an actor, pretending to be a boyfriend…
…but is actually a billionaire lawyer? If you’re looking for a lighthearted, swoony instalove romance - and, really, why wouldn’t you be? - give Undercover Billionaire a try. It’s quirky and cute and will leave you smiling.
This book is from the beginning very funny and the characters very stubborn. Kaitlyn is a strong woman and a strong woman needs a strong man in her life. But she believes that is not true until she meets Cameron Drake, who show her how good they can be together.

I read a free sample of this book and had to go on to buy the full story as I was intrigued.
A RomCom about Kaitlyn, a bakery business owner who hires an actor to play her fake boyfriend whilst her cousin, Cynthia comes to stay. Kaitlyn has told her very annoying cousin about her "boyfriend" and she is now forced to hire someone to play the role. But who turns up at her door - Cameron Drake, an environmental lawyer who has been caught up in a very bad storm and Kaitlyn mistakes him to be the hired actor.
Cameron decides to play along as he is feeling restless with his life and is instantly attracted to the feisty, strong bakery owner and they go on a series of "dates" to create photo memories of their relationship. The chemistry between the two was powerful and this story was an instalove book with the main characters falling for each other within a few days acquaintance. The plot thickens when Cynthia arrives with some extras.
This book was very amusing and I really enjoyed it. The dialogue was funny and both main characters were strong and endearing and the book was concluded to my satisfaction with multiple epilogues. A very enjoyable read which I rate 4.5*.
Undercover Billionaire ( The Secret Billionaire 2)
I loved, loved, loved it! I absolutely loved the dynamic between these two from the moment the door was flung open in hurricane like weather until the very last moments of the story finding the 2 in bed. Cameron Drake is a Billionaire but gets drenched and must pull over. The only place is hers. From the moment they meet, she thinks he is an actor there to save her from the humiliation of her cousin, Cynthia. He changed his name a bit to Drake James (His middle name) The two spent alot of time getting ready. They needed üpics so they went on a ton of dates in a really short period. They kissed ALOT! They were good at it. They made love. Then everything went to hell. Cynthia brought Kaitlyn's whole family to try and call them out on a lie. What happens next is totally worth the read. + 2 Epilogues! Highly recommend this book and this author! 10/10
Cameron had to get out of a storm that landed him on Kaitlyn's doorstep. She mistakes him for an actor she hired to play her boyfriend in front of her cousin. He goes along with the charade because she intrigues him. The charade turns to something real for the both of them, Kaitlyn tries hard to fight her feelings for Camerson. "Aka Drake" I enjoyed reading this book. It's one of a few short reads that held my attention without getting sidetracked.
Dnf This book was so odd. The language and tone was 180 degrees different than book one. The FMC wanted a weak willed man she could control and every time the MMC did something even slightly out of her expectations she freaked out and clutched her pearls. I was so annoyed with her I had to stop after 35%. First book was fun and silly. This book had me on eggshells hoping the mMC didn’t say something to set off the FMC because I found her annoying.
A mistaken identity of a man just trying to find shelter from an unbelievable storm is how this story is set in motion. Kaitlyn Owens believes the man at her door is the actor she has hired to be her fake boyfriend for a week. Interesting things develop as the couple get more involved. A fun tale and one I enjoyed very much.
I just finished reading Undercover Billionaire by Melanie Knight. I loved this story! It had me laughing out loud and I wanted to slap the cousin! By Letha Roberts
It's silly, quirky, unbelievable and an entertaining read. Most romance books are not meant to be serious or necessarily correct. Entertainment is the reason I read them and Undercover Billionaire was just that.
Kaitlyn is smart and yet not. She owns a successful bakery and her personal life is a mess. She's been fooling her nasty cousin with a fake perfect boyfriend but the jig is up, she's coming for a visit. Enter a stranger caught in a storm who shows up at her door. Cameron Drake, Mr. Big Shot lawyer, hides his identity, he wants to stay. Recreating years worth of dates in a couple of days gets them closer and of course love follows.
I really enjoyed this book throughout. Cameron Drake is a successful billionaire lawyer. Kaitlyn is a candy store owner who told a white lie that is about to come to light without a huge risk.
Cynthia her nosy cousin decided to visit which without drastic action will show she lied about having a boyfriend so she does the only thing possible…. She hires an actor to play her loving boyfriend. Cameron is caught in a violent storm and seeks shelter in her apartment, when he bangs on her door she thinks he is the actor and he goes with it. Lots of laughs drama and love ensues, Cynthia brought her whole family so the pressure is on but we got the HEA Ending. ( I won’t spoil the deets I’ll let you all read for yourself. Highly recommend this book was simply brilliant.
This is an amazing series. Engaging characters and plot. Although the concept of the book is not unusual, the telling of the story is perfect. The author has a way of dragging you into the story from the beginning; in this book it was a drive that became treacherous because of weather. His almost accident scene was written so well that I felt like I was in the car. The leading lady character was also just as fascinating and felt so down to earth. Who doesn’t have the nosey cousin that always tries to be better than you? Somehow this author makes this whole short book feel real. I cheered on Cameron as what he wanted all became true. Looking forward to the next book in this seven book series. Bought the whole series after the first book.
Such a cute book, I absolutely loved the dynamic between the MMC and the FMC.
The way everything played out in the book was fabulous, the fact that the FMC is independent and strong willed is such a nice touch and I wish more books had these FMC’s. I also liked the fact that the MMC seems like a chill dude like ”oh she thinks I’m an actor… guess I’m an actor now” its so funny.
I do wish the ending was longer it felt rushed and somewhat just snipped instead of being wrapped up. Maybe if the book was 50 pages longer just to be able to round out the ending more. But at the end of the day I got an HEA so I’m happy
I enjoyed this book - the humor had me laughing often. When the author proposed having Drake pose as a polka instructor at the Y, I was hoping the plan was a "go". I couldn't wait to see how the author would carry that off.
Having the whole family show up was a bit too much for me - just sticking it to the nasty cousin would have been enough. Having Drake go along with the whole fake boyfriend plot was fantastic. A very funny read.
Drake is battling a horrible storm and looking for shelter in a small town when he see a light on in one building. Kaitlin had fallen asleep waiting for an actor she hire to play her boyfriend. She was trying to fool her snooty cousin. When she heard a knock at the door she just assumed the gentleman was the actor. Drake was so shocked at his greeting and surprised at the feelings he was having he went along with it.
This book was so much fun. I loved the strong characters and the interaction between the two of them. He was not what she expected, but he was even better. It was so funny when he was trying to pretend he wasn't who he was. The writing was great and really made you feel like you were there. I read it in one sitting. A great new series, and I can't wait for more.
Another enjoyable book by this author. The story keeps you engaged and curious about what will happen next. I picked up the book whenever I had a spare minute and finished it in a few days. The story was well written and it kept you interested from start to finish. It is nice to read a book where all the characters are good people and good things happen. Enjoyed immensely.
This was a brand new author for me and while it was a cute story, some parts including the whole instalove was extremely unrealistic. It also took me a while to like Kaitlyn. She seemed more interested in a puppy as a boyfriend than an actual man and she stated it one too many times.
The only thing I didn't like was when the author put an "s" on the word anyway; just reading it and knowing it didn't fit made me cringe, and I know it's from being an English major. Other than that, the book was really good, and I liked the chemistry between Drake and Kaitlyn.
Will the genre ever run out of scheming mean sisters/ female cousins/aunts? As it was the story was a bit farfetched plotwise, but fun. Would do well as a young teen read if not for the sexual situations.
Well written story and well developed characters. This series just keeps getting better and better! I love how they keep trying to keep secrets and not very well! Love this!
Undercover Billionaire is well written with a storyline that kept my attention, so much so, I was up until 3am getting to the last page. I like the banter and the wit.
What a wonderful drama that fell out of control but everyone landed on two feet.
Drake and Kaitlyn were experimenting with different ways of loving someone in this adventurous romantic love story. Different types of loving someone at first sight.
Kaitlyn is expecting an actor to fool her cousin on her visit and ends up with a billionaire pretending to be the actor. Wonderful Characters and story that pull you in until you finish it!! I highly recommend!!!
