The one thing worse than a nightmare is when it comes true.

The Cloud Estate's gardener has a nightmare about slugs eating his plants. When he wakes, a ravenous man-size example towers over him. On another part of the estate, a masquerade is planned for the evening, and the slug has a grudge to settle.

'Twin Cheats' is book number six in the 'Life in The Clouds', series. Each is a standalone story, but with a common setting. The Stables is an exclusive and private hamlet on London's outskirts. If you were to visit, you would think you had stepped back in time one hundred years. If you are rich enough, they might even let you stay. Those who work there, however, are a bunch of oddballs.

One of my favourite inspirational authors, and a source of endless fascination for me, is Roald Dahl—ironically, a Norwegian living in England.
