An old X-team foe, Bastion, has weaponized the Legacy virus - a scourge that once nearly wiped out all mutantkind - and begun infecting mutants, causing them to self-destruct and resulting in mortal damage to those around them. As X-Force tracks Bastion, the stakes are raised when the mutant-hating robot kidnaps three young mutants very close to the team. And to make matters worse, X-23's diabolical creators, the Facility, return to claim their "escaped property." Then, Wolverine fights his way into a Hydra base to save the life of a mutant child! And finally, when Domino is targeted by the infamous Assassin's Guild, she reluctantly accepts Wolverine's help. The two set about fending off their attackers - and putting the moves on each other. Can the X-Force teammates compete against a murderer's row of villains while distracted by each other? Collecting X-FORCE (2008) #12-13, #17-20 and ANNUAL #1; and X-FORCE: SEX & VIOLENCE #1-3.
Who knew violence could be so beautiful. I really miss the era where the mutants just straight up killed the bigots and persecutors who tried to end them.
This vol is a little lesser than the first, as it gets interrupted by Messiah War, having to pause it's first arc. Having to murder one ugly foe, they have to save some of their youger peers. Poor X-23 really goes through it, having to come face to face with the worst abuser of her past. All with a dash of excellence in execution.
The Sex and violence mini with Domino and Logan is a bit indulgent and superlative, but it looks gorgeous. You get exactly what the title says, even if it's just a exercise in beautiful blood spattering.
A lot of breadcrumbs leading to the big climax, the dead shall rise.... nechrosha is soon.
Great series, X-force the way it should be. Wolverine is the leader of this secret group of X rebels. If your looking for a more darker side of the X titles also with some blood. You'll enjoy this series.
The individual stories were all great. However, the overall story arc seemed to vanish toward the last 1/3 of the book. It would get the full 5 stars had it finished the story Vol. 1 began with.
