As I expected, this volume is a pretty good stopping point for me and this series. All of the stats are nonsensical and the fights, to compensate, rely on asspulls to get the main character out of trouble. More female characters develop crushes on the MC and more random male characters enter and exit the story.
When it comes to stories with OP characters, I think my main enjoyment comes from a bit of the world-building and then from the typical scenes where the MC turns the tables on arrogant elites. This story sped through all of those parts of the story, so it feels like I have nothing left to look forward to other than more female characters that the MC will be a dunce around.
These books were quick, light reads that suited my purpose for a rainy afternoon, so I enjoyed the fun while it lasted.
The fights are garbage. In all of them, the MC is completely outclassed, yet he pulls some shit out of his ass, and he manages to win with 1HP left. Sorry, but I don't buy it.
The fights in the first two books were way better and more realistic. I really don't want fights that last 30 pages. "The longer the fight, the more epic it is". I hate this concept and think it makes for stupidly ridiculous fights. These fights are WAY TOO LONG.
I don't like the System fuckery. The System listens to the MC and acts on what he says. The system seems to give him exactly what he needs.
Every girl loves him, and the other guy characters are all lame loser background characters.
Done with this series. The fights in the next book are going to have to be even more ridiculous.
This series takes an incredibly unexpected (and sort of odd) twist at the end. You are left on huge questions at the end and waiting for the next one to be available has been painful. But it’s full of action and exciting pretty much the entire time.
