Tai be galo erzino, be to, tie išgyvenimai nuobodūs, lėti.

One night when Kim is looking after her younger sister Judy, Judy walks off in a mood, and Kim let's her, even though Judy is only 5. It's the last time she ever sees her.
Everyone helps to look for Judy, but there isn't much to go on. It also doesn't help that Kim makes up a story about seeing a red van which the police latch onto, but doesn't exist.
8 years later, Judy is still missing. The police tell the family that someone has discovered some of Judy's clothes under some paving slabs at someone's home, and start investigating that.
Kim speaks to an old friend called Teresa (Tessa), who says she met someone o holiday in America who's neighbour has a 13 year old adopted English girl who looks like Judy, and her name is Judy! Kim gets excited that Judy might really be alive and living in America.
The police then discover that the slabs Judy's clothes were hidden under came from her aunt and uncle's garden centre. Uncle Jeff then disappears leaving behind a note explaining that he picked up Judy that night, but he'd been drinking and lost control of the car and killed her. He buried her at the airfield.
Everyone then goes to Judy's funeral, but Kim still likes to imagine her living in America.

Kim's oude vriendin teresa moet haar iets belangrijks vertellen.

Missing, Judy for me , was a book that was confusing yet exciting. It had many interesting themes presented in the book that included: Grief, Sibling Love, Abduction and more. I think Anne Cassidy did a great job at presenting the theme of Grief in particular showing that it can come in many ways as Kim tends to realise.

I also think Anne Cassidy did a very good job of keeping this book in the loop with what was going on around that time. The book was released in 2002 and has a main theme of Abduction and sadly this was very realistic for the year 2002.

My favourite part of this book was the fact that you couldn’t stop at the end of a chapter – I would be dying to know what would happen next! The amount of twists and turns this book had would surprise you, you think you would finally figure out who abducted Kim’s sister and then something else has to happen!

All in all, this book was incredible and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to read a modern mystery book!

Summary:
-- Kim went to the store with her five-year-old sister, Judy, and her friend, Teresa. They got into an argument and Teresa went off home in a bad mood and Judy left on her own as well. Kim thought that Judy would soon turn back as it was dark, but there was no sign of the little girl. Kim started to look for her up and down the street. She had vanished! Eight years after the tragedy, Kim is now in college, yet her family are still trying to find closure to what happened to Judy, whether she's still alive, or dead and buried somewhere.

Likes:
-- A light read, kind of a page-turner too. I would have loved it if the author have written more pages.

I remember reading this book back when I was about twelve or thirteen, long after I'd stopped reading countless books a week, and slowed to maybe one or two a term at school. I remember not expecting much, but somehow also found myself relating to the main character and her emotional strains, even if her struggles were something that I myself have never experienced. I loved how it has so many unexpected moments, such as Kim lying about what she saw on the night of Judy's disappearance, or what actually happened to Judy. I also like how Kim is in college/sixth form, as nobody ever seems to write about characters at that age.

Personally I found the storyline quite boring, although that may be partly as it is intended for younger readers.

The book is about a girl trying to work out and come to terms with what happened to her sister, who disappeared many years prior. There are quite a few possibilities that are briefly explored, but they do not go into much detail before moving onto another possibility. The ending felt very anti-climatic and an unrealistic outcome for missing persons cases.

One positive was that the topic of grief was covered well and may help young people struggling with similar issues to relate to.

At the start, I didn’t suspect this story to be too interesting. It is not a book I would usually read. But boy was I wrong! Throughout the story I felt so sad, at one point I was so close to tears! At the end, I won’t spoil, but I felt it wasn’t sad anymore, I sort of felt happy.

This was just such a good and emotional book and I have recommended to a lot of friends that also really liked the story. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend you do.

Susitelkta ties viena istorija, ji nehiperbolizuota, labai tikroviška.

J'accroche !

Anne Cassidy is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I saw this book as a recommendation for me on Goodreads while I was reading Looking for JJ. And funny thing is, I think I liked this book even better! It stuck out to me because of the fact that I actually have been planning to write a story for a long time now (I’ve had the plot in my head and everything) about something very similar, about a teenage boy who’s little brother goes missing and how he feels guilt clawing away at him over it because he was supposed to have been watching him.

I’m on the fence about the ending. On the one hand it was surprising, I was not expecting it to be On the other hand I thought it was a bit too forced, like for shock value. It seems to change the story around into a family drama about rather than about a kidnapping. And now it just adds another layer of grief onto the family when they’d just started getting over the first one from eight years. I also found it a bit weird how we literally never noticed anything strange about

But it was definitely a gripping tale. It was easy to get lost in and immersed in. I liked all of the little details such as the balloon, the pink sweater, the ‘J’ necklace. I also thought it was really clever how she incorporated the story of the American girl in there. I knew that I also loved how Clare Clare is a true friend.

Like with The Dead House, this book kept me engaged until the end, with a twist I didn’t see coming. It keeps you thinking that it’s one thing, but it ends up being another, and it makes sense as well. It isn’t just pulled out of nowhere to try to trick the reader, it fits in well with the story and gives it a fitting conclusion. It’s pretty hard to succeed at that. It’s a very character-driven story, but that’s not to say that there isn’t a plot. It’s just that it’s a lot of conflict and emotions mentally, mostly, throughout the story. And I personally like that sort of a plot.

I wasn't ENTIRELY satisfied with the ending, and I wanted to know more about the aftermath of it all, how the family was dealing with it, etc. (the twist incorporated yet another sort of tragic element that the family will now have to deal with). There were many concrete details that I appreciated--the 'J' necklace, the pink balloon and sweater, etc. Kim's first friend (Theresa I think) was pretty annoying, both in the beginning and later on. I liked Clare a lot better and was glad Kim made a friend in her. Overall a pretty solid story, and I don't regret this purchase.

BOOK REVIEW – MISSING JUDY

The book Missing Judy, written by Anne Cassidy, is a great novel for teen girls between the age 11 to 14. I can only recommend this book to girls, who are interested in a book with an unusual plot.

At the beginning of the book, Kim stays at her best friend’s house. Because of Kim has to look after her five year old sister Judy, Judy is also at Teresa’s house. There the two sisters have an argument and Judy run out of the house. Judy doesn’t come back for a while, therefore everybody starts looking for her. Nobody gives up finding Judy, although there is no trace where she could be. Someday Teresa contacts Kim, because she got some very interesting information where Judy could be. But after a while it turns out that this was a wrong information and a disaccord.
On Christmas, eight years after Judy went missing, Kim gets a present with a letter in it. She was shocked after reading it, because now she knows everything what happened to her little sister.

I think the plot of the book is very interesting and exciting, although there are parts in the book, which are explained to exactly and so readers might lose the interest of the book or find it a little bit boring. In my opinion, the twist at the end, which is totally unexpected, is a special thing of this book and you are never able to guess it. So if you start reading this book, it’s recommendable to read it till the end.

I enjoyed the plot of this book, but like the majority of Cassidy's novels, it was much too short! I felt this story could have developed into a much bigger story from the ripple effect of that one little lie about the van, and it just felt she couldn't be bothered to write any more than she did.

I liked the plot of a girl who lives in guilt after lying about a fact that probably reduced the police's chance of finding her sister who has been abducted. The style of writing was decent and I felt a connection with Kim, as Cassidy explains her feelings surrounding the whole kidnapping incident.

It just didn't have even umph, the story could have developed further and been more dramatic and the ending came too soon , not allowing me to be fully satified at the end. It was all a bit too coinicidental wit6h the friend finding the picture.

The book was very short so it’s a good light read – it’s going to be hard to write a very detailed review!

This book was suspense central! I found it very unusual to have been written with Judy having been missing for eight years already – even with the flashbacks – although this actually made it a lot more interesting.

The different revelations and theories as to what happened to Judy tended to range from bizarre to the typical disappearance so the end was very surprising but effective and actually had me in tears.
Kim was a very likeable character, not just because of what happened but because everybody secretly blamed her for it even if they didn’t mean to.

It was a very heart warming yet heart breaking story.
