As valuable as I consider this collection of essays, I was even more relieved to peek online, and see that the 826 Project still exists, to encourage teenagers--particularly teenagers of color--to write cogently of their own experiences, hopes, and dreams.

A collection of student writing from the 826 National project, this book includes a range of essays about teenagers' lives in their own voices. The letters to former teachers were especially powerful.
