Venice, early 1800s

Isabella Tenderini, a wealthy merchant's widow rescues a stranger from drowning in one of Venice's canals. And how does the man repay her selfless act? By kissing her - her, a respectable woman.

This is a novella of approx. 139 pages / 31,000 words.
Each chapter is illustrated with a photo of Venice from the author's own collection.

This is so ridiculous, I have no words.
The main characters... I don't know which one of them is more stupid. The way they think and draw conclusions, I swear they should be lobotomized. For real.

Venice Vampyr is the first novella in the series regarding vampires living in Venice during the 1800's. These novellas are shorter then Tina's Scanguard Vampires series and much more sexually explicit (if that is even possible but Tina has managed to do so).

One thing I would like to first point out is that this paranormal erotica book is 5 ALARM HOT and I LOVED IT! This book is sizzling HOT and just what I want to read in a paranormal romance/erotica book! Yes the erotica is amazing but the romance part is also just as spectacular!

I loved the characters and how she is able to make them so complex and give them such depth.

Raphael di Santori is a vampire who is saved from drowning in one of Venice's canals by Isabella Tenderini, a wealthy merchant's widow. What happens between them is the dawning that each is drawn to each other by forces they can't explain. Raphael who has been never developed a close connection to any female is somehow drawn to this strong, beautiful woman who has a raw passion lurking behind the veil of social propriety.

This is not only an erotic book that has lots of explicit sex (have I mentioned that you will need cold showers) but also a mystery behind the storyline with characters that seem to come alive before your eyes.

I very highly recommend this book however I will place a warning that due to the explicit sex scenes some may not be able to take the heat. It is that hot!

Venice Vampyr is a sensational and steamy must read!
As a novella, Tina has put together a short but well-developed story line & brought new concepts to the vampire world with a stunning Venice setting. Great characters with awesome chemistry, Isabella and Raphael are a phenomenal couple. Isabella’s sexual awakening and Raphael’s yearning for love, that he didn’t even realize himself until meeting Isabella, are both deeply compelling and sensually arousing. And the romance in the story was unbelievably moving. I also loved Tina’s photos of Venice at the beginning of each chapter.
This is an erotica, so although it does have a great storyline there is a lot of smoking hot sex! Vouyerism, bondage, rear play and more, though tastefully done is not for the faint of heart.
Loved it!

Books on my "Yum! Cotton Candy Reads" Shelf are just that. Hot, light, and fluffy like freshly-spun cotton candy at a fun park. Sure, it's not perfect or even good for me, but it's damn enjoyable!

*This novella has a good bit of dirty talk and some steamy debauchery. However, if you're looking to be immersed in a rich and detailed historical setting, honey, this ain't the book for you.

Did you know that vampires do not float if thrown into water? They sink and that’s how Isabella, a young widow, meets Raphael, a vampire, as he is “drowning” in one of Venice’s many canals. Their attraction is immediate and their self-control is completely gone. Who would think a mere human could keep up with the sexual appetites of a powerful vampire?

Venice Vampyr by Tina Folsom is a blend of a paranormal romance, an erotic journey that will cause your eyeballs to smoke and even has a little plot tossed in! Too short to fully develop her characters or much of a plot, Tina Folsom did create the erotic side of this novella to the max! If you’re the shy type, hide in the closet, wrap your eReader in a plain brown wrapper and sit back for a brief escape from reality!

Every time I read a book featuring a vampire I learn something new about them. Who knew they couldn't swim due to their body density? It's a good thing for Raphael that Isabella is a human who can swim because she rescued him from a canal in Venice. This handsome, lusty vampire ignites a passion in Isabella that she didn't know existed. Another reviewer called this a cotton candy read and I have to agree. It was light, hot, and sweet and you can finish it in one sitting.

A dirty talking vamp and a proper lady, how could you go wrong with this little novella? As a book I would give it three stars but I slipped in a fourth star because it is only a little book and she wrapped up everything so nicely.
A little bit of action and a lot of 'debauchery' quickly take you through this story. A steamy quick read that quite possibly will leave you panting for more.

Isabella's got a little bit of freak in her thanks to a vamp named Raphael!

This story is a short, sweet, and sexy read. It's a novella so it's pretty compact but the scenes are well balanced. Isabella and Raphael's characters are fleshed out well for such a short story. Oh yeah, there is a plot along with scorching erotica. In Tina Folsom's world, vampyrs can't swim, they sink to the bottom and drown because they are too heavy to float. So of course, there are a group of vampire slayers who push unsuspecting vamps into the canals of Venice. Hey, if it works why bother with stakes and the possibility of vein trama. The story starts with Raphael being pushed into a canal and sinking to his demise. Isabella, a widow who lost her human husband to an 'accidental' canal drowning, dives in to save him. She is a proper lady so of course she is not ready when Raphael takes over her life and her bed. He makes short work of her inhibitions and a troublesome family member. As readers, we get to watch him work -- Yow! This is not kiddie pool erotica, you gotta be ready for the deep end. I am so going to read Raphael's brother's book next. His name is Dante and he has rake written all over him. Beside, Amazon sells the twin pack on the cheap for Kindle so it was a no brainer to double up.

I wasn't impressed with this one, mainly because I didn't think there was much of a plot. I like novellas with more of a story line. I only had the audio version of the book, and that didn't help.

The story starts off in the early 1800's with Isabella whose husband passed away a year previous. She saves a Raphael from drowning. For me, that could've been the start to a great story; however, from there it became a bit absurd. I know some people like the "hot and steamy," but I didn't buy it for one second. I'm not one who likes stories that are simply dirty talk, wham-bam-thank you-m'am kinds of plot. My stories need more development.

Recommendation: I don't really recommend it but if you like hard core erotica you might like this one better. It was just too much for my taste.

So apparently, I picked this one up for free at some point on Amazon and came across it while I was scrolling through my Kindle looking for a book to read for our vampire themed week.

It’s early 1800s in Venice, Italy. Widow Isabella Tenderini has already lost her husband to drowning when she comes across an unconscious stranger who is about to meet the same fate. After rescuing him, she brings him back to her home…into her personal chambers. Before she knows it, Raphael is awake and is kissing her and propositioning a discreet affair. But Isabella is under the tight watch of her dead husband’s cousin…a man who could ruin her business and her standings in society if he had proof of her inappropriate activities. Something Isabella doesn’t know about Raphael: he’s a vampire!

I really enjoyed this book!

Yes it was more erotica than plot, but this time that was okay because Isabella and Raphael were scandalous!! I don’t read much M/F erotica, so the explicitness of the sex was a welcomed surprise from what Im used to reading in het romances…there was even a bit of anal play. And Raphael was quick to prove to Isabella that nothing was “taboo” between them and I loved that about him. He never allowed her to feel dirty for her desires and encouraged her explorations.

There was a little plot with the vampires. In this world, the vampires are being hunted by a human group called the Guardians and that thread somewhat connects Isabella’s life with Raphael’s. I do think that Isabella’s belief and fear of vampires was resolved a bit to easily, but this was erotica so I shouldn’t complain.

Looks like the next book is about Raphael’s brother Dante. I definitely plan to read about him!

Note: The author has included personal photos she took of Venice at the start of each chapter. I’m sad to say that the desired effect was lost on me because I read on a black and white Kindle Paperwhite, but I did go back to my computer and pulled up some of the photos. Very nice.

Awesome novella! Though shorter than a book, by nature, it does not lack in amazing writing. The characters have amazing chemistry, and the steamy love scenes were done very tastefully. I know some may not be able to handle explicitly written love scenes, but to me, they were always very tasteful and never too over the top. For those who are used to books in which the love scenes consist of somewhat vague description of sex, "Then he made passionate love to her.", I suggest you prepare yourself for a far more accurate and detailed description of sex scenes in this novella. Very HOT :) and kept me unable to put my Nook down!! I think there is another Venice Vampyr book coming out soon, and I will definitely be reading that one as well! Highly suggested hot, hot read!!

This novella was smoking and sizzling. I thought my kindle was going to melt. The storyline flowed perfectly for a novella. It wasn't rushed at all. The details were just right.

The time period made this novella even better for me. I enjoyed how Tina brings historical and paranormal together in this novella. It made for an interesting and very fun story, one that kept me turning the pages till the very end and wanting more.

This novella was very erotic. I didn't feel like the story was rushed. It felt new and refreshing. I really thought the pictures in between chapters added to the story. The pictures made Tina's details pop even more.

Raphael and Isabella's story was great! The mystery and suspense kept me guessing and engrossed in this world Tina created.

This was a great novella. I would describe it as vampire erotica and it was amazingly hot! This story was full of steamy loving and one of the hottest voyeur scenes I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Tina also managed to create a love story that was believable. This book was very fast paced. A definite page turner.

I loved the heroine, Isabella. She was a strong respectable wealthy widow but a wild freak under the sheets. Raphael was a vampire in need of a hero.. literally! After Isabella saves Raphael from drowning, he feels compelled to thank her. Thank her with multiple orgasms that is.

I recommend this to all lovers of erotica, romantica, and vampires. Raphael's got a mouth that'll make you blush, and I just love a vampire with a dirty mouth!

Let me start out by saying that I love Tina Folsom's books. I've been thinking about reading this series for months now & couldn't bring myself to do it since I didn't think I would like historical romances; however, I've been itching to read something different & boy am I glad I did. Great read & the sex.... Well let's just say it was hotter than hot. If you don't like extremely descriptive sex in your books, then you will not like this book - just a warning. :-)

I really liked this novella; Raphael and Isabella made the perfect couple. The only negative thing I found was it felt a bit rushed, which is often an issue with a novella. (Ok, that and some of the descriptions of body parts were occasionally a bit over the top.) But this book was really well written and I might have considered giving 5 stars if the book had been longer. I'll definitely read the next book in the series.

If you take away the cheesy ass metaphors this book is riddled with it wouldn't be a bad book. I liked the plot. There was a nice chemistry between the characters. And the pictures were nice. But I just couldn't get past the "pearl, honey, caves, all the quivering parts and dark channels." However it did give me a few laugh out loud moment because of these ridiculous statements and that's why I gave it a solid two stars for effort!

Blahhhh. A would be vampire romance but turned out as just a cover for an erotica. There's not that much of a story...It's one of could of been a good story if it was axed on more of the story than the sex(who was quite simple) so it looks like it didn't do well on both counts.

In book one in the Venice Vampyr series, widow Isabella Tenderini rescues a man drowning in a Venetian canal and takes him home with her. Her husband died a year earlier from drowning, so by saving the stranger, she hopes to finally be able to move on from her pain and loss.
Vampire Raphael di Santori thinks he’s died and gone to heaven, so he attempts to seduce the beautiful angel taking care of him, only to soon realize he’s still alive. Neither of them can deny the sizzling attraction between them, but then her late husband’s cousin discovers their affair and threatens to ruin her reputation.
Isabella and Raphael are great characters with an instant connection. I like how the story is set in early 1800s Venice—not a common year or location for many romance books—and I would like to know more about Raphael and his fellow vampires and more about their enemies, the Guardians.
This story is super hot with a lot of erotic scenes. Even though I normally like dirty talk in books, the hero called the heroine a “whore” far too many times, in my opinion. Still, those sex scenes were definitely my cup of tea.
The book ends with a HFN ending, but it’s easy to see the upcoming HEA.

4/5 - Historical Paranormal Romance, vampire x human.

I’m not going to lie I picked this audiobook purely because Eric G Dove was the narrator. I love his voice, ok I have a crush on the man’s voice BUT this story was really good! And so HOT! Steamy scenes everywhere. This is almost a perfect PNR, had it been full length it would be perfect.

Honestly I don’t enjoy historical romance books. They are not my jam. I tend to get annoyed with the time period and dialogue. This historical PNR was the opposite, maybe because it’s Italy and not England idk but it works. Probably had a lot to do with the fact that it’s paranormal romance as well.

I feel a binge of this series happening immediately. And then I’ll be moving on to Tina Folsom’s Scanguards Vampires series and possibly her Out of Olympus series. WHY?

1) I like audiobooks that are done well. Some books aren’t meant for audio but this author’s writing style works.

2) ERIC G DOVE narrates them all, enough said.

3) S T E A M. AF! Hot scorching sexy times.

FYI:

Lots of descriptive sex. Anal play both for the H and h.

Set in the early 1800's these stories are slightly old fashioned in manner of speech and I found this a bit boring. Historical romances are not my thing.
I felt sorry for Viola for what was happening to her but it did not negate my thinking she was an idiot at the start of this book. While I can understand Viola’s wishes I cannot agree with how she went about them. Her actions and behaviour were stupid and thoughtless, especially for those times.
She is lucky Dante beat up Salvatore or her life would have been over even sooner than she planned.
I am not a fan of Rakes (manwhores) being the heroes in stories, it just never feels right to me but Dante certainly had an ego on him which I found funny.
Interesting how everything was ended.
Read in the box set of books 1-3.
This book is the best of the bunch to me.
