Terry Deary's "Terribly True War Stories" is a riveting collection that delves into the raw and often unsettling realities of warfare throughout history. Deary masterfully brings to life tales of sacrifice and survival, from battles waged on horseback in ancient times to the grueling trench warfare of the World Wars.

A standout stories involves a savage school teacher who betrays his students to Roman soldiers, showcasing the moral compass and will to survive at all costs during war. Another gripping account tells of an American hero who, after leading his country to independence, finds himself abandoned when the battle is won—a poignant reminder of the personal costs of war.

Deary's storytelling is engaging and enlightening, shedding light on how individuals endure and persevere amidst the chaos.

Out of all bokks in this series this one is my favorite.the way it tells you the stories is different from the others and it doesn't have that childish theme.🙄💙much more interesting info's and stories if you really wanna know more about war(you kind of can find at least one thing about all wars at least)and you want a light book about it this can be a good choice for you🙂🖤

Though a children's book, it does give some interesting historical tidbits of a military nature. A particularly good one is the Christmas truce of World War I on the Western front. Some cautionary tales on trying to profit from treason as well. A good way to get kids to learn some military history.
