Killer Temptations- An erotica NOVEL by Danity O'Shae

Rae Lewis has been down on her luck since birth. Left to raise her four-year-old son on her own...even living in the Carver Housing Projects of Spanish Harlem, New York had become too much. Stuck in a dead end job with a pervert as her boss, there was no way things could get any worse. Sometimes being in the wrong place at the right time is all it takes for a person’s luck to change.

Filthy rich blonds didn’t stumble into downtown Manhattan convenience stores on a daily basis. Hurt and in pain, Vana Valentino could only offer to help after Rae went out of her way to get her home safely. There was only one question she needed to answer…

“Would you let some stupid prick beat the hell out of you for five thousand dollars?”

A new life, a fresh start, and more money than she’d ever dreamed of was the reward, but it came with a price. In the S&M underground, Sex wasn’t just sex when served with a closed fist punch and a few smacks to the face. Never in her life had she thought that she would sell herself for money, but barely a week in and a new offer was on the table. One that she couldn’t refuse…

Five million dollars… For her life…

Hmm ... well. Three stars is supposed to mean I liked this book, and saying I liked it is a stretch. However, the concept was interesting and the execution was generally competent, hence the three stars.

It was extremely violent, too violent for my tastes. I don't find men using closed fists to beat the crap out of prostitutes anything other than disturbing, certainly not sexy in the least. It was often nauseating, the kicking in particular. Beware, seriously.

The lead man's bizarre kink, which is the focus of the novel, was interesting, and his motivations behind it, his past, adequately explained. His nasty little secret is beyond dangerous, but I'll leave that part alone.

Beyond the question of taste, though, (and I try not to judge harshly merely because something is not to my erotic taste), there were any number of silly mistakes in this novel that were distracting.

One of these errors involved New York City being hit by four feet of snow. The author writes that this blizzard caused some of the roads to be closed. That's right. Four feet of snow. Some roads were closed and soon they were open again. ROFL. I don't need to explain what makes this so funny, do I?

Another bit of nonsense that I recall was the sheer brutality visited on the S&M prostitutes and how quickly they healed, often returning to duty within a day or two. I think cracked ribs and double black eyes require a lengthier recovery period. Maybe these gals were just uber-tough and had access to some secret, magical concealer creme. Why the hell not?

Distractions aside, the book is competent enough, the main character minimally annoying, the plot adequately paced. If you like your action extreme, then this might be for you. For me, I won't proceed further in the series.

Killer Temptations by Danity O'Shae is by no means your typical erotica novel. There are so many erotica books out there now that are just your "run of the mill" sex stories more or less that lack character development and depth, but Killer Temptations is not like that at all.

From the beginning, I fell in love with the characters. The story line was extremely creative and unlike anything I have ever read before. Rae (the main character) is a single mom who is struggling to make ends meet for her and her son until Vana comes along and offers her the deal of a lifetime.

The story unfolds with scenes from an underground S&M ring where men (and women I assume) go and pay for the chance to beat the living crap out of these women while they have sex with them. Rae ends up getting into it just until she can make enough money to support her and her son and get their lives back on track. There are some big twists in the story though and you can't help but feel for Rae as you start learning more and more about this underground S&M ring and the men who own it.

I loved the story and I can't wait to purchase the next book of the series!!!

Another very dark idea, what if someone would pay you lots of money to beat the shit out of you? What if someone would pay you $5 mill to kill you then bring you back??? Yup, scary!

Okay first off I was shocked by this book. It was recommended to me by amazon since I like "erotica" and since it was free I downloaded it. Now I'm not saying that it wasn't good or that it wasn't hot in some spots but it was definitely darker than I'm used to. I wish I would have read the synopsis first because the whole time I was reading it I was expecting it to turn into one of my normal erotica novels.. you know the kind where the guy wants her for her and doesn't want to bang her while watching the life leave her eyes. It was a weird book for me and even weirder than that is the fact that at the end of the book I realized just how much I got invested into the characters and was hanging on to ever word. It is doubtful that I would have read this book if I would have known more about it but I do give it 5 stars because I couldn't put it down. But as a warning for people who might not be able to handle it: It does have scenes of women getting beaten and "killed" for money and the women willingly going back for more.

I just don't think I can rate this book. I don't even want to try. This is one of those stories that just wasnt for me. It was well written, had an amazing concept and the character development was perfect, but I can only compare this book to a horror movie. It was the weirdest feeling, I was so disgusted by things that happened during this book but I just couldn't stop reading! In this lies my problem with a rating. I want to give a low rating as I spent most of the book wanting to skip sections but finding I couldn't as I had to know exactly what was going to happen.

Its just very odd!!! I wouldn't recommend to anyone but I won't tell everyone to avoid it either.

Sorry not a very helpful review. But I can say that my Kindle says its 224 pages long if anyone would like to know/update the details.

After reading the other reviews I did not think I would like the book but, a book with a story line and erotica it was pretty decent. Actually more than decent if you ask me because I really liked the book. I have to caution you if you don't like dark books do not read it because it did have a DARK story line. It was very violent yes but, I think that the reason that did not bother me is because I understood (partially) what Rae was doing and why she was doing it. It was a QUICK read and I finished in about two hours. I really enjoyed the book!

Very dark...too dark for me. But the story was well written. Another reason the story did not appeal to me is...***Spoiler alert***...that the HEA is F/F. I'm not into lesbian romance at all.
