Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.
This was such a cute board book and it had great illustrations. I just wish I knew who the narrator was and why they were searching for the bat in the first place (obviously it's a board book so I think those details are beyond the scope of what the author really intended to tackle, but I kept wondering why someone or something was searching for the bat in the first place, and once they found the bat it didn't really clarify those questions).
We are taken on a little journey to find little bat; we meet a robin, a squirrel, a moth and an owl along the way. The illustration of the animals are super cute with warm subtle colours. We can use other senses such as fingertrails to touch and most of all the fun peep through aspect.
