With creative direction and world-building by the inimitable Yoko Taro, the mind behind the NieR and Drakengard universes, comes...
SINoALICE , a gorgeous and gory mobile RPG that blurs the line between dreams and reality, fairy tales and fact!
And now you can read the manga adaptation of the popular game!
Innocent lives pay the price as the Deathmatch Game rages on. Caught in a surprise raid, Alice and her companions struggle to stay alive—much less together—amid the chaos. Friendships are tested, desires are exposed, and the stage is set for a violent rematch!
Snow White aims to sabotage the game from the inside out. Cinderella thirsts for victory at all costs. When these fierce rivals clash, the Game Master behind every cruel twist and turn is finally revealed!
We have met two new characters in the story and also having more reveals to characters, some things we already know about.
Although enjoyable, it was a little confusing with adding a certain character who kept calling themselves the Gamemaster. I enjoyed the parts away from them but maybe it will make sense more after the next volume but right now they are apart from the two groups and I wonder if they are actually that powerful.
It's not a SINoALICE review for me if I don't show off Cinderella a little bit, I'm too obsessed with her.
My favorite parts of these manga volumes is actually the section after the story where it's a novel version and it goes into the past of these characters.
Learning about why Red Riding Hood has a wolf version of herself was so interesting to learn about and how she is connected to another character. The manga also made me realize that Red Riding Hood reminds me a little bit of Power from Chainsaw Man
This is easily the best volume of "SINoALICE" so far, but that isn't really saying much.
This volume has the most amount of character development and action that was consistently rewarding so far. It also helps that there wasn't any gratuitous sexual violence this time! Yay!
However, I still have NO IDEA what's going on, and the introduction of the "game master" only made things more confusing.
And man, there's only two volumes left. I know they aren't going to wrap this story up in any satisfying way, but like, what the hell are they going to do? What could they possibly come up with in two volumes?
I'm sure this won't have a satisfying ending at all, but I have to see it through at this point.
Oh, and this volume also had the best pros section of the series so far. This one was actually extremely important and added some much needed context to Red Riding Hood.
I wish the rest of the story was as good as that...
