Are you likely to meet a new love soon? Is the coming year a good time for that major career change you've been contemplating? Are you likely to make a lot of money in your life, or will you always be challenged to make the most of what you have? The techniques presented in The Art of Predictive Astrology show you how to forecast upcoming trends and life events for yourself, friends and family, and astrological clients. Author Carol Rushman, a practicing astrologer for over twenty-five years, shares her method for astrological prediction, including: the "natal promise" of the birth chart; secondary progressions, including the progressed Moon, and progressed house cusps; transiting planets; lunations (New and Full Moons) and eclipses. After reading this book you will be able to predict major events such as marriage, and minor events like receiving a small gift. Real-life examples drawn from the author's experience show you firsthand how to practice the art of predictive astrology.
I think it's a good easy to read beginner/intermediate book for predicting. I also appreciated how it helped me to understand the natal chart better. Her explanation on the differences between squares, oppositions, and conjunctions is invaluable. The marriage section was also excellent although I'm not completely convinced with the luminary aspects indicating children potential. She said herself it didn't always work. The progressed part I think could have had a better explanation on what exactly are progressed planets and if the progressed planet chart itself and its aspects has any value. For example, I currently have a t-square in my progressed chart. Is that significant as a driver or aspect? I also think there could have been some explanation on separating and applying aspects since that's not something that I had come across before. The career section was lacking but I will check out her recommendation. Other than that I got a lot from this book and recommend it to astrologers who have gotten a good meal of the basics.
My go-to during Eclipse season as someone else already said. REALLY helpful for Saturn returns. Love all the content on progressed moons, as someone with Cancer placements, Carol is absolutely correct in her discoveries of us Cancerians being those who most noticeably shift with those transits. It also helps we share a Virgo sun, it came thru in her writing–much to my delight!
Best predictive astrology book yet! I love the way she thinks and analyzes degrees to show time. It's a favorite of mine and I cannot wait for more from her!
