I was born in Canada and remember as a small boy crawling in my snow-fort. I closed my eyes, and when I tried to open them, they were frozen shut. I didn't panic, but wiped away the ice crystals, unglued my eyes and kept on building my tunnel. Those were great days! I moved to Central California before seventh grade and couldn't believe I lived in a land where oranges grew on trees and you could pick grapes from the vine.

I used to wonder what I wanted to do with my life, what kind of work specifically. I was miserable not knowing and bordering on desperate. Then one day a friend gave me his typewriter. I began working on a novel. A different person told me it was much easier on a computer, so I bought one and began getting up at 4:30 A.M. each morning before work, writing for three hours. My eyes were unglued once again as the pang of misery left my gut. I knew exactly what I wanted to do: write. So now that's what I do, I write, and write, and write, and I love it.

Another great read by Vaughn Heppner

Another great read in this series as have all his books I have read. Very easy and enjoyable to read. It is the perfect way to de-stress and take my mind away from the real world. Thank you Vaughn!

Well written

A standard military sci-fi story so you already know it will be action packed. The author bring to life his well crafted characters with strong story telling skills.

Fresh from Mars with diplomatic credentials from a doomed planetary government, hero Marten Kluge heads off to contact leaders of the Jupiter confederation of moons and asteroids in "Cyborg Assault," the forth book in the Doom Star series. He's got with him his buddy and fellow shock trooper Omi and a female cyborg he befriended during the siege of Mars by Social Unity and its duplicitous cyborg allies. But as readers of author Vaughn Heppner, pleasant sailings and success remain tantalizingly distant. Marten's got series challenges ahead, and dealing with the absolutely bizarre Jupiter government, which is based on the teachings of Socrates, is first among them. Right away, he discovers cyborgs have taken control of a Jovian battleship and succeeds in blasting it apart. Then he gets to meet a tiny woman named Tan whose role as chief strategist means she's a bigwig in the Jovian hierarchy. She's also an arrogant bitch who sees Marten as a barbarian. Marten gets arrested before winning over the captain of the new ship he's rescued by and discovering another rebellion. He finally gets the Jovians to accept that they're under threat of extinction by the cyborgs, and battle begins. There's also an appearance by the Praetor, a really nasty Highborn who doesn't much care for the apparent superiority of cyborgs. Big battle climax. These Heppner books have me hooked.

Martin Kluge fights for jouvian systen

As usual on his quest for freedom Marten Kluge gets entangled in another battle. This time the Jovians face destruction from the Web Mind and their cyborgs. He runs into his old preator who wish to end their manhood. Having to work with him and the highborne again brings him no joy but great help in protecting the Jupiter system and earth. Looking forward to next in series. Oh, you need to find out how Marten succeeds in his Jovian adventure. GOOD READING!

Had to put it down 3/4 through. I kept trying to finish it but the writing style was so heavy and ponderous that I couldn't deal with it. I just couldn't care about the characters or the story line. In fact I put off reading this book for a year after reading the previous one in the series hoping it was just a phase I was go through because I didn't much care for the last book either. I guess I won't be reading the next book(s) in this series either. Somewhat disappointing.

Another great read in this series. I love the way the character theads pop in and out of the story and many times end in abrupt completely non climatic shot to the head. The stories drag several characters though such inhuman muck just so they can be there in the tunnel to die with surprise and hate on their faces. Love it.

A very nice addition to the Doom Star series, probably the yet...Great characters, great new villain and story line. The author does a great job of weaving through various points of view. If you love sci-fi you need to read this series. Can't wait to read the next novel.

Great stories but the author seriously needs an editor. Spelling, grammar and punctuation errors plus poor sentence structure and repeat sentences fill the pages of these books.

The entertaining series continues.

There's no let down in the action in this book. Kluge continues to fight as only a shock trooper does. Web minds are a great concept.
