Konusu: 12 yaşındaki Eva her şeye sahiptir. Ailesi zengin ve mutludur. Eva hiç parayı düşünmeden istediği kıyafetleri alıyor, kurslara gidiyor, özel bir okulda okuyor, yurtdışı gezilerine gidiyordur. Anne ve babası bir gün onu karşısına alıp iflas ettiklerini açık açık söyleyene kadar evdeki değişikliklerin farkına bile varmamıştır. Artık yurtdışı seyahati, büyük alışverişler ve özel okul yoktur. Evden taşınmaları ve yerel okula gitmesi gerekir. Eva yeni hayatına başladıktan sonra ise iyilik yaptıkça eski hayatını geri alacağı gibi bir fikre kapılır.

Eva 4 kitaptan oluşan bir çocuk serisi. 9 yaşındaki yeğenim için aldım. Hediye etmeden önce de içeriği temiz mi, uygun mu bilmek için okumaya başladım. Benim için sadece teyze sorumluluğu olarak başlayan bu okuma tamamen bir zevke dönüştü. Çok keyif aldım. Yeğenimin de okuması için heyecanlıyım. Küçük kardeşi, yeğeni veya çocuğu olan herkese gönül rahatlığıyla tavsiye edebilirim. (Elbet devam kitaplarını da okuyacağım.)

I don't generally feel bad about writing negative reviews, but I dunno, this isn't a book aimed at me, so it feels kind of harsh. Still. I just can't say this was a good book exactly.

I get what it was trying to be. This spoilt little rich girl becomes poor during the recession, and has to become a nicer person because of it. But the trouble is, she never really develops. She begins as an alright person who just has a load of stuff, and she ends as an alright person who hasn't really got a lot of stuff. She never really grows or changes.

It just felt like something was missing, and I'm not entirely sure what. It was weirdly empty. I don't see how books like Jacqueline Wilson's The Bed and Breakfast Star(which deals with homelessness) and Marita Conlon-McKenna's Under the Hawthorne Tree(which deals with a famine) could get me believing in things that don't affect me, but this book couldn't get me believing in the current recession in Ireland, something I'm actually living through.

Like I said, I feel bad about reviewing this book negatively since it's a children's book, and I'm not a kid anymore. And also since I rarely read books like this even when I was a kid- I was more of a fantasy/history kind of girl. But there's kids books I still enjoy now, and books from different genres that I love, so I can't really excuse this book. It's just soulless.

Ive searched for this book on the website and have (finally!) found it! I don't think it is as good as her other books, however. It was kind of short, and it was lacking in plot at times, and so for that reason, I'm giving it 3 stars.

It was OK, everythis was predictable...
And, these days, there are cheaper shops like Aldi and Lidle etc... than those who oparate stalls, the story does not seem real...
