Cartoons about a cat where all cat lovers will recognize their pet October 4, 2008 By Charles Ashbacher HALL OF FAMETOP 500 REVIEWERVINE™ VOICE Heathcliff is a big cat, but unlike other caricatures, not a lazy one. He is his own cat, tough, emotional, at times needy, other times aloof, always hungry and occasionally devious. All cat lovers will find some characteristics of their own pet in his actions. The cartoons in this collection have simple and amusing messages. I like cats and I enjoyed it, if your tastes are similar, then I am sure you will as well.

Sunday funnies from 1976-78 in book form. A great fast read for trivia buffs. Never knew he was owned by the Nutmegs.

Hilarious and conservatively irreverent, Heathcliff shines his best in this collection. The plots are wackier and more complex than those in Garfield, and so are the jokes. Sometimes this left me wishing I had had a little more context to understand the joke, but almost every comic got at least a chuckle out of me. Heathcliff is a more likable character than Garfield, but no less funny. Certainly worth the read.
