The quote: What I'm about to ask you, I want you to think about it before you answer. Talk to Brainbox. Don't blurt out something you might regret. You got it? - Maelstrom

Maelstrom is a confusing character. I think that could be what appealed to me, what I remembered and the reason why several years after my first read though I'm back. He came from nothing which in theory at least makes him ruthless, he's a survivor who is capable of taking care of himself but he cares for people, his people. And he's a romantic. He wants Demetri, it's not just the environment and he wants Demetri to want him. The question is how far is he willing to go, how much is he willing to risk? The whole package is interesting and memorable.

Chapter 4 is the action ramping up. Realisations are made. Agreements forged. We as the reader (and Demetri) learns more about Secren culture and for me, that's really interesting, it shows a degree of thought that is sometimes missing. It's a good chapter.
The thing about this yaoi is none of the chapters feel like filler. They are there for a reason but I am glad I don't have to wait for the next instalment.

This is going really interesting. I like what the story promises, but I’m still feeling bother because of the way this is cut and every part definitely doesn’t work as stand-alone. I like the writing style, I love the way some hot scenes get in the middle of the story being a little bit of dub-con considering Demetri’s feelings about being with another man, but I’m really feeling intrigued by the story and will keep reading it, or more likely listening to it, to see how all of this ends. I’m having a great time with it, only I wish I wouldn’t have to go get single “books” of what seem like only chapters of the same one, but I’m still enjoying it.

Getting better? Still short. But I'm starting to enjoy the dynamic between the boys

This episode go serious into the relationship between Maelstrom and Demetri. We got some hot stuff early on thanks to brainbox, but the real stuff I loved was when they were together. There was this part in the middle where it was just so touching between them! Demetri is trying so hard to be what Maelstrom wants, and Maelstrom is so cool. This one really hits the yaoi bone in you. That's what I call it when I get those sweet butterflies in the stomach. I woon't be able to stop reading this series until I see them get together. They're so close! Demetri's got to give soon. You can tell he already loves Maelstrom, it's just his body that's fighting it. Uke's bodies never win! I think this is even better than Incubus Master and for me that's saying alot! x-posted from Amazon
