No doubt about it: the illustrations are spectacular. Warm, rich and beautiful backgrounds and details. I dislike some of the illustrations found in current children's literature...too stick-like and ugly. These are really special and I can tell the artist has a real affinity for nature, setting and color.

My six year old grandson is on the verge of being able to read to himself. But he still enjoys having a book read to him. We read this book at breakfast today and we were both disappointed. There were too many characters to keep track of..for a relatively short book in which no characters are really developed. The story line is simple and not very interesting. Even my grandson said "Too many coincidences." And while I don't mind a moral message, this one didn't feel necessary and was a let-down. This book is all about the art and less about the story and is for a much younger audience than a six year old.
I propose to this illustrator to find a good writer to match up to your amazing talents.
