Rod is the perfect male-chauvinist. He mocks anyone different from himself and has no problem using racist slurs. He demands his wife serve him hand and foot. If not, he thinks nothing of using his fists. But one day, the neighbors call the police. Rod is sentenced to Personality Modification. Will it make him a good person or is it just a way of turning real men into wimps?

A good exercise with an unusual story

The story here is interesting and a little unusual. Rod is a very unlikable main character by design. His point of view exposes the reader/ language learner to some new vocabulary and highlights the negativity of his disposition. The glossary and questions as well as the writing exercise complete the “lesson” in the story.

Empathetic To The Cautionary Tale

Reading this is almost equivalent to watching an episode of The Twilight Zone. There is humor and satire in this text, but also thought provoking consequences involved. Very interesting read.
