Jem Dance Club Magic
Jem and the Holograms are preforming at Spangle, a new dance club. Jem is impressed with the lighting and Kimber thinks itll really make their new costumes stand out. Three theme nights are taking place for the big opening and the Holograms have special costumes for each night. There’s even a costume contest for the guests. First prize is an expensive stereo.

Jem asks Rio to be their escort for the big night and he says sure. Meanwhile, the Misfits see a poster advertising the opening. They all agree that they’re better and Pizzazz says they’ll prove it at Spangle. The first theme is “A Night in Space.” Everyone is really getting into it, but then then Jem and the Holograms notice the Misfits at one of the tables. By the way they’re whispering, its no secret that they’re up to trouble. But it’s almost time so they just have to go out there and do their thang.

The Holograms descend down to the stage in their silver, space-inspired, outfits. Jem hopes their music will wow the crowd as much as their costumes. They sound great. After their done they get a request for “Music is Magic” and they rock the club. Everyone sings along. When they get back into the bubble, the rope snaps. They’re able to jump onto the catwalk and as they do they see someone running away.

By the next night, the incident is forgotten. The theme this night is “Romance Under the Stars”. The club looks like a tropical paradise and Kimber says the dress is the prettiest she’s ever worn. Before they’re lowered down to the stage on a rainbow, Aja asks Rio if its safe. He assures her it is and that he’s checked everything. He leaves out that he’s seen a stage hand hoovering around over head.

Jem and the Holograms give another great show, but when they step back on the rainbow it sways. They see shadowy figures on the catwalk. So, they just decide to stay on stage and do another song. Rio sees the stage hand and confronts him about trying to mess up Jem’s show. He says it wasn’t him but it is someone. Fancy props can go wrong but not two nights in a row.

On the third night, the theme is “Western Jamboree”. Jem and the Hologram’s ride onstage in a stage coach that’s red and gold. Rio sees the stage hand hurry by him with some tools. He stops him and demands to know what he’s up to. He points at three figures. It’s the Misfits and they’re on the cat walk. Roxy, Stormer, and Pizzazz are holding ropes attached to three buckets of water. Rio apologizes to the stage hand and then lays into the Misfits. While he’s doing this, the stage hand tips over the buckets and the Misfits get DRENCHED! Jem and the Holograms finish their performance and pick the winner of the contest.

My Thouoghts: What’s strange is the winner isn’t dressed in the theme for the third night. She’s dressed in the theme for the first night. SMH Also the theme for the second night is “A Night Under the Stars” but the club’s look is Tropical Paradise.

I remember loving the outlandish costumes and Jem's super cool hair. Oh '80s. I shake my head at you.
