This book is the final book in the VI SPY series and what a finale it was! The story follows agent-in-training Valentine Day and her mis-matched family as they attempt to complete a mission that will take down super-villain UMBRA; although, things start to go wrong when they are all blasted into the depths of darkness in outer space .
I really liked this book because the family drama is relatable but at the end of the book it is a bit sad although it made it a touch more enjoyable.
I would recommend it to people who like spy and adventure books, but you should read the previous 2 books before you read this one.
I haven’t read book 2 and I have read a review that said you do need to read the previous books in the series. I agree with this but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the book. I have to put my hand up and say I enjoy Maz Evans books.
Vi, the heroine of the book has to face a lot of things in this book that children in real life face. Step relations, betrayal by a family friend and the death of a much loved relative. All beautifully dealt with by Maz Evans.
I would give her books more than 5 stars if I could.
A great ending to the Vi-Spy series, I thought this was the best of the trilogy, I loved the story, the jokes and the family connections. There was sad moments too as Vi finds out her Nan is poorly, but they all work together to try to save the world. A fun middle grade.
This book is exceptional I can't wait to read it again in the future it isn't very fast pased but it was still very very good recommended for people under the age of 12
