I like this book a lot. 99/9% of it was outstanding outside of one story that just made me angry personally, but not at the person who was telling the story, just whoever tied a dog up to the kill it.

But to get to the good stuff I liked about this book: I loved the stories were from ordinary people who had an encounter they couldn't solve. Also liked how the author threw in some stories from his family and himself to show some personal touch of stuff that explains somewhat how he got into the paranormal and unexplained phenomena and whatnot.

SPOOKY!!!! Jim Harold, guest on Episodes 37 and 62 of the Radiate Wellness Podcast, is the "OG of the Paranormal," and the host of the Paranormal Podcast, Jim Harold's Crime Scene, Soulmate Stories (with his wife, Dar), Podlords, and Jim Harold's Campfire. On the Campfire, real people call in with their real-life stories of ghosts, cryptids, UFOs, high strangeness, and "head-scratchers." The best of the stories is compiled into this book and the others in the series. Check out Jim's website at JimHarold.com.

Title: Jim Harold’s {Campfire True Ghost Stories}
Author: Jim Harold
Publisher: New Page Books
ISBN# 978-1601631947

“Turn the lights on – Check under the bed – Prepare yourself for several scary reads!”

Jim Harold’s, ‘Campfire True Ghost Stories,’ is a collection of stories linking – unimaginable terror, ghostly images, and paranormal phenomenon with ordinary day people, such as most of us are. Who does not like a good ghost story? Combine supernatural phenomena with credible witnesses and you come up with not one, but multiple horrifying true accounts of ‘the unknown.’ Yes, I said true accounts. Who am I to judge what another may perceive as, not of this world? The scientific world is quite often uncovering new discoveries concerning our planet. As someone who has always taken an interest in the paranormal, I devoured each story with excitement and anticipation.

Journey to a small farmhouse in a remote area of Minnesota – be prepared to be suddenly awaken in the middle of a deep sleep to what can only be described as a ghostly growl. Travel back to your childhood. Take a trip with a neighborhood friend to meet his relatives. While you are there sneak off to the attic and explore, however, try not to be terrified by what may lurk in the darkest corner. Experience the loss of a family pet – only to be frightened, or maybe comforted in the fact that its spirit still stands guard.

Most everyone has heard the ghastly rhyme, ‘Lizzy Borden took an ax and gave her father forty whacks.’ Visit the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast – a bit of advice; keep your feet and legs wrapped tightly beneath the covers. Next time you take a ride on an elevator, make certain you pay close attention to the person standing next to you – for in a blink of an eye, he or she could mysteriously vanish in thin air.

Psychic abilities, poltergeist, ghostly spirits from the past, unexplained flying objects, voices from beyond the grave crying out – all and much more strange phenomenon can be found upon these pages. For the people that experience these eerie encounters, there is no question as to its legitimacy.

Jim Harold holds a Master’s degree in Applied Communication Theory and Methodology. In 2005, he created ‘The Paranormal Podcast, an Internet radio show dedicated to all things supernatural. Jim has become America’s most popular paranormal podcaster.

Read Jim Harold’s, ‘Campfire True Ghost Stories’ with an open mind that not everything that occurs in our world can be explained with a microscope and a Doctorate degree.

A familiar scenario for ghost stories is a group of people surrounding a campfire. The sun bows down to the moon to create the atmosphere for all that is scary. Jim Harold took stories of ghosts, monsters, and death and turned them in to a nice collection for an outdoor night of spooky fun.

Jim Harold is behind three of the top paranormal podcasts entitled The Paranormal Podcast, Jim Harold’s Campfire and The Paranormal Report. Many listeners graced his shows with their personal accounts. Jim Harold’s Campfire was turned in to Jim Harold’s Campfire: True Ghost Stories.

Writers have a way of embellishing the paranormal to truly paint a portrait of fear. Sometimes when nothing stands between real people and the ghosts they encountered a reader can feel what they felt. See what they saw. Harold stripped away everything and gave us the paranormal reality.

Jim Harold’s Campfire: True Ghost Stories is a nice read for those who enjoy a good ghost story or in need of a kindred spirit. Chances are you might find your own ghostly experience through the words of another person’s tale.

In my opinion there is nothing that beats the long time tradition of sitting around a campfire and sharing stories. This book is a collection of spooky, thrilling, mysterious and thought inspiring stories from his listeners. If you enjoy Jim's podcast then you will love this book. I enjoyed the variety from ghosts and monsters to aliens and time slips. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the paranormal. Great job Jim!!

Jim Harold has collected more than a bunch of true ghost (and other paranormal phenomenon) stories from his listeners. I see this book as a reference source, a way to find common denominators in the quest to understanding the explainable. I wasn't key about reading it at first (it was a promo copy), but once I saw it was a source of documentation, one to study, not merely enjoy...well, I really ended up enjoying it ad valuing it more than I expected.

The author does a podcast on the paranormal, and this is the first volume of a collection of paranormal experiences sent in by his followers. It is very entertaining and is just like sitting around a campfire telling ghost stories. Looking forward to reading the other volumes and also checking out his podcast.

I listen to Jim Harold's Campfire podcast, so was already familiar with the format and subject matter. Some of these are legitimately frightening, a lot of them are just kinda meh. It was a nice bathtub book, but nothing super spectacular by any means.

I just found this to be a really dull and boring book. The stories were so brief and they lacked any context or for that matter any element of fear to them. I could be reading a book on tax preparation and find it more interesting. Boring.

It's a good book. It's a collection of short stories each of which is only a few pages. Great for when you only have a few minutes to read or a couple hours.

Some great stories all told by his listeners. You could not ask for more. I was actually on his show telling a story of my own. Maybe I will be in book two.
