Full speed ahead!
Bart Allen at last embrace his heritage to become the latest speedster to don the mantle of the Flash. The future looks bright - his former colleagues in the Teen Titans ask him to rejoin their team; he's to be honored at the Flash Museum; and best of all, he is being considered for membership in the Justice League of America.
Heady stuff for a young hero.
Unfortunately, becoming the Flash also carries with it certain burdens. It's no secret that the previous Flashes made many deadly enemies over the years, and those enemies are intent on seeking vengeance on any hero who carries on the legend of the Scarlet Speedster. When this desperate Rogues Gallery teams up to bring down the latest Flash, will Bart have what it takes to defeat the vicious onslaught? Or will his career end before before it has a chance to begin?
Full Throttle is the most shocking and tragic storyline in Flash history and sets up a new era of greatness for the Fastest Man Alive.

This was good omg I love it!

So we have Bart going against Fallout and Inertia and its quick fun twist and may seem "the writer has hastened it" but then again its fun and then seeing how he defeats them, his relationship with Val, fighting against different rogues here and there like Kadabra and Cold in particular, cameos by JL characters and well him being "Impulsive" and living upto the name which was fun and I freaking love how the last story arc happens and how emotional it is and its a build up for sure but a good payoff with all the threads coming together for one hell of an emotional climax and some areas may seem rushed but then again its an epic story and leads into something really big after!

Like I said its all good but some stuff seems rushed and so some people might not like it but then in the end it wraps up neatly and also the art was good here, the constant writing changes didn't help. But it shows Bart as this heroic figure who would do anything to save people, I feel like had they given the writer of the first trade to continue writing and explore Bart and his move to LA and all it would have been better but then again the return of the one in the end makes one hell of a climax. Do read it for sure!

And there it is. The end of Bart's run. Some interesting ideas all thrown to the side because of editorial issues. They wanted Wally back (Which is funny since guess who comes back soon after? Yep! Barry!) And this is the final days of Bart. So by the end we get the rogues coming in and going a bit too wild for my taste and...well spoilers...I guess? Maybe. This is 10+ years old. Bart is murdered and tus Wally returns.

Overall this whole Bart storyline isn't terrible, so I won't give it a 1 out of 5, but 2 out of 5 is the highest you can go. The writing is average, the art is solid enough but not amazing, and the plotlines go nowhere.

Carino, molto.

This book series started off quite pathetically, but ended in a way no one saw coming.

I've been pretty much enjoying the Wally West era Flash stories, so I wasn't ready for this collection of Bart West era shenanigans. Bart's just not an interesting character: for one, his biography is completely ridiculous, and for two, his name is Bart. Fortunately he doesn't make it to the other end of this book in one piece. Not that I was rooting for his death or anything that morbid. I was just glad to get some closure in what is otherwise a middling unsatisfying read. I don't expect (or like) all new(ish) comics to be hip, trendy and po-mo, but I do expect better writing and more complex characters than I can find in a 1970's Amazing Spider-Man comic book.

A bold decision to end Bart's "run" as the Flash makes this book more interesting in my opinion.

The book itself was pretty "by the numbers". In that the adventures and setup of the plots running through the book have been somewhat touched by other writers with either Barry or Wally.

But where this book takes it further, is that Bart the end is very final. Whether this was an editorial decision or something that was planned by the writers since the beginning, I don't know. But its a bold move and one that gives the series a much deeper impact.

It also sets up the next stories involving Wally and his guilt for Bart. So as much as I suspect the decision being an editorial one, overall, in the long run, it was a good decision.

With that being said, the story itself, as I mentioned earlier, isn't something we haven't already seen before. And if I'm being honest, we have seen it done much better. So while the ending gives it that extra bit of gravitas, for a while there the book was a bit of a chore to read.

Its a short run, but worth reading if you are into the Flash.

So, I'm not sure if the goal of this entire series was the shocking outcome at the end or if it just ran out of steam. The story was fine but Bart, mysteriously older was not as cool as DC was hoping. The book did get better with an actual comics writer taking the helm. The plot was pretty lame but the action was good. I liked the art, mostly by Tony Daniel. Overall, a decent book that has a weird place in Flash history.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this entire ongoing, from Bart being aged-up to his death, were all just editorial meddling.

This is closer to a 2.5, but that said, this story reeked of editorial interference. The original writing duo is ejected halfway this collection, and the disjointed melding of plot points really shows. This features the finale of Bart Allen as the 4th Flash before the title reverted to Wally (#3) for a handful more months. There are certainly some fun ideas here, it is fun seeing a Flash who has an alter ego as a cop again (er, or at least in the police academy), and the character's relocation to LA, is also an interesting change. This is all dumped quickly in the favor of *SPOILERS* killing the Flash.

Bart's death is handled pretty well, and is sort of heroic, but it rubbed me the wrong way how bloodthirsty the Rouges were, which was pretty out of character for them. The final issue in the collection is also pretty interesting, which features Wally's return to get revenge on Inertia, who was the main perpetrator of Bart's fate (also the eerie hunting down of the other Rouges which leads directly to Salvation Run). This is a mixed bag, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Bart Allen's run as the Flash concludes in the second and final volume of the Fastest Man Alive series. Trying to set up shop in LA, Bart finds that escaping his past is not as easy as running away from it. Attacks from his evil clone Inertia hint at a larger endgame, one that places Bart dead center against the Rogues. With his powers stolen and few allies at his side, Bart begins seeing the Black Flash and knows that his time as a hero might soon be at an end. With Inertia successful in taking down his rival, the returned Wally West decides to hunt down the young killer and make him pay for his actions. The attempts to replicate the use of Bart in Smallville did not pay off, eventually sending DC to the well of speedsters after only a year. With Bart's time as Flash cut extremely sort - making way for a futuristic revival - this version of the Scarlet Speedster never fully found its legs.

Flash rises to the occasion in this story that has him going up against the rogues, and despite knowing that a deadly outcome is very possible, his heroic nature never comes into question.
