When Doctor Trevor Sebastian Scott Stewart was very young, he lost his wife and unborn son. Going nearly mad with grief, and after religion failed to give any solace, he delved deep into the ominous and enigmatic world of occult spirituality, hoping beyond hope to once again see his beloved wife. When he realized these people were nothing but charlatans and thieves, all lying in wait to ambush the desperate and grieving, he made a decision. He would dedicate his life in proving these people were no more than deceitful leeches feeding off the suffering of the heartbroken and bereaved promising both rich and poor the ability to touch the other side, if only briefly,
Trevor, no longer believing in an afterlife, psychic phenomena, or ghost began to forge a name for himself as a pioneer in the field of parapsychology, at Cambridge England, for the simple purpose of exposing this host of "psychics" feeding off of the suffering of humanity. One night, as he sat prepared to yet again spring on another unsuspecting medium, a voice from the grave warned him of a future he was not ready to face.
By coincidence the allure of being able to once for all prove that ghosts do not exist came to Trevor in the form of a letter from a young duke asking him to investigate what is ostensibly the most haunted house in 1920’s England...and the offer is irresistible to Trevor.
Fate’s iron fist is about to humble Doctor Trevor Sebastian Scott Stewart.
Trevor may not believe in the ghost, but they believe in him…
