I'm Lonely, Lord, How Long: Meditations on the Psalms

Rate this book
Many writers, both secular and religious, decry the loneliness that so many in our postmodern society suffer, but few offer real solace that is deeper than mere human words. This volume, first written during Marva Dawn's most painful single years, offers genuine guidance and comfort for those who struggle with suffering and loneliness in their lives. Dawn explores portions of the Psalms to show readers the depth of God'S comfort and lead them to the affection, encouragement, and sense of belonging found only in Christian community. Questions for reflection, discussion, and positive action in every chapter also help to meet the pains of loneliness in an understanding and concrete way. Invaluable for personal devotions and for strengthening one's relationship with God, I'm Lonely, LORD--How Long? will be a source of comfort for those presently in the throes of loneliness and an instructive resource for those caring for someone in that place.
