Used to having his pick of the ladies, werewolf Randy Trudeau's socks are knocked off by a nameless lady who kisses him into erotic oblivion one New Year's Eve and then flees. When a call comes in to Were Watching, the security company he's a partner in, to look into the burglary and assault on a lady photographer, Randy recognizes her as the mystery woman with the magic lips, and knows his bachelor days are over.
One sniff, one lick, and Randy knows Crissy Carter is the woman he's been searching for since that night. She's the only woman he wants, and this time she won't get away. But keeping Crissy isn't easy getting her ornery cat on his side, rescuing her from the bad guys and keeping her vampire ex-boyfriend out of her life, becomes a full-time occupation.
For Crissy, all her troubles pale into insignificance once she's reacquainted with Randy. Coming into full body contact with the super-hunky werewolf is trouble with a capital T. Scorching kisses aside, for cat-lover Crissy the last thing she expects is to find herself mated to a canine in the form of a randy werewolf.
One thing Susie Charles could never say is that her life has been boring. Having lived in more places than she can remember and tried enough different occupations to fill a job guide, has given her a wealth of experiences to draw upon in her stories.
Now, as a writer of erotic romances, she works diligently to live up to her lusty image. Always looking for inspiration wherever she can find it, she has a disconcerting habit of checking out the "talent" when she goes shopping with her adult daughters - although, for them, she draws the line at whistling at strange men. She spends her spare time walking along the beach where she lives, ostensibly exercising while she plans new stories, but more often than not visually distracted by the delicious abundance of almost naked male flesh she uses as "inspiration".
Needless to say, with her boundless and undiminished appreciation for the male of the species, her heroes are always hunky sex gods who will do anything to make their lady happy. Being of the curvy variety herself and knowing how most males just love curves, her heroines are never model-thin, and are fun, sassy and intelligent to boot.
Very entertaining! This is the first book in the Were Watching series and introduced several characters for "potential" stories. Disappointed to see that Chad and Georgie still don't have a story out, but the author's Site indicates it is in the works. However, I have no idea when that comment was posted. :-(
Excellent suspense! Crissy Carter has a vampire stalker looking for revenge on something she had nothing to do with. Ten years ago, Crissy's first love was Rene--a vampire terminator of sorts. I felt for their history and hope Rene has a story that needs to be written--soon. But, Crissy also has a some very mean werewolves after her, but she has no idea why. Georgie, Crissy's cousin, convinces her to hire a security service. What she got was Randy, a werewolf who found his mate!
Erotic! Both the plot and suspense were good enough to support the very hot love scenes. At times, I felt Randy was too clingy. Too possessive. He was the hunk that enjoyed women, but when he found Crissy things changed fast for him and he didn't know how to handle it.
Randy Trudeau has a reputation for being a love em and leave them type, whose talents in the bedroom are unparalleled. There is only one time that he allowed a woman to get away, one mind blowing kiss on New Years Eve that left him wanting more but she had left before he could even get her name.
Crissy Carter doesn't know if it is something in weather or a new strand of bad luck, she has been mugged and now someone broke into her home and assaulted her. All she wanted was to find the right man and plan for the future, now she has to wonder if there will be one if her luck doesn't change. Taking her cousins advice she hires a security company to find out if the two attacks were related.
One glimpse at Crissy and Randy has found the woman who got away, he plans to rectify it very quickly. Of course there is the matter of keeping her safe, finding out who is after her, and convincing Crissy that she is his mate which is turning out more difficult than he thought since she thinks he is a major player and herself as another notch in his bedpost.
**Reread, really good. I hope that there is a Chad and Georgie story coming soon. This was a pleasant surprise, funny, romantic in a warped sense, and had a mystery that unravels that is quite a bit of fun. Definitely a lot of potential for future books in this series.
Reviews for books like Candid Camera are very hard for me to write because I struggle to find something to say about it. I guess the issue is that I feel like I’ve read this book a million times before. The title is different, the characters have different names and the storylines differ but the structure has been used often and this time it bored me.
What didn’t help were the main characters whom I didn’t really like. Chrissy irritated me, her life is in danger but like all woman in these books she doesn’t seem to care or take the threat seriously. She wants to be a strong independent woman yet refuses to take precautions to protect herself. She falls in love with Randy out of no-where. Although she doesn’t mention it once for the whole first half of the book, she doesn’t care that Randy is a werewolf because she already knows they exists due to a vampire ex-boyfriend who was suddenly bought up, again out of nowhere. There was just something about her that I didn’t like and the fact that every man within a 50 mile radius of her is in lust with her, or trying to grope her ‘fantastic’ boobs didn’t help.
Randy (whose name can be taken literally because he is always randy) was not much better, all he thinks about is sex, and before he met Chrissy all he does is have sex with any woman available. When he gets around Chrissy he becomes a typical possessive ‘mated’ male who wants to press the love of his life in to the floor and do her until she submits to him. he is constantly trying to get her to do what he wants and gets jealous if she even talks to another man, which is rich considering he has a woman humping his lap at the time, he doesn’t want her there but he doesn’t push her off either, double standards dude, double standards.
All in all this just wasn’t for me at all, I am tired of the same structure and tired of these possessive men.

Excellent dialogue. I really enjoyed reading this book. I am definitely looking forward to reading Randy's brother story, Ziggy. I am a bit surprise that is not a story about Chad, the werecat (aka Randy's and Ziggy's cousin).
I would recommend this a book as good beach reading. :)
Fun shifter story; Randy was a bit of a player (not my favorite kind of hero) but it was fun to see how fast he settled down after meeting his mate. And I liked Crissy--no pushover, that one!
