From 1970
I almost gave this 3 stars. It is not very well edited, or maybe edited at all. But I was never bored, I give four stars if I fully enjoy a book. It was lively, fast and gripping enough.
The publisher Cutting Edge Books is another firm reprinting old fiction. I was thrilled when I saw this. Desperately I wish more of these paperback gothic romances would be put on Kindle. I love the paperbacks with their stunning covers, but I don't always want to read them. I know everyone doesn't like e-readers, but I adore being able to make the font as big as I need on a clean white background.
Surprisingly, Claudette Nicole is not a real person. Apparently she was a man.

Decent prose, pretty good characterization (although our heroine is TSTL), good world building, a hobo stew of a story, no theme. 3-goths.
It became apparent early on that the author was not a woman, but a man (Jon Messman) on a wish fulfillment bender. But it was so crazy I just had to keep reading. And at 142 pages it does not overstay its welcome.
Not sure how I came across this, but I'm going to credit/blame Carla Remy.

This book was just something else. Jon Messman (Claudette Nicole) was wrong for portraying Appalachia like this. Fun read though.

My First and Only Novel by this Author. Very Interesting premise and it deals with inbreeding among families and also how history is kept alive through songs and poetry.
