Obert Skye read his first book at age two. He wrote his first story at age four. And he was nearly trampled by a herd of water buffalo at age six. For a short time, he lived on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, where he spent time as a candy-taster. Several years ago, Obert Skye says, he discovered the existence of Foo. Publishing his story as a fictional series was not Obert’s first choice. Nevertheless he is content that the “history” is being told.

I've been wanting to read this series for YEARS! And I had such high hopes for it. Book 1 was so good and made you think that the rest of the series was going to be fun and exciting and so adventurous. Boy was I wrong. This was boring, boring, boring, kinda good and Clover was funny, and then boring again.
The idea of having to get through the rest of this AND the next 2 books almost made me want to cry. But I still felt bad for DNFing it.
Then I realised that there are far too many more books on my shelves to get through and I'm not going to love all of them so why not weed out the not so enjoyable ones, to make way for the ones I can look at sitting there and that make me smile. Surely a smile is better than remembeing not enjoying something.
I really liked this book. At first I was really annoyed with it and how everything was falling apart in Foo. But near the end I became hopeful again and I am excited for the next book. The creatures and the stories behind this book is just amazing. How people come up with things like this I just don't know. May fate be good to Foo.
There were times when I was pretty certain I had not actually read this book previously. Except for the fact that I knew how it ended. It just carries you along even though this one seemed to be more "build" for the next ones, towards the series climax. There are some interesting occurences and character growth. What does fate have in store next?
I’ve mentioned with the two earlier books that I saw a lot of similarities between this series and Harry Potter. I’ve also noticed that the author has a way of inserting little thoughts about life and the situations in the book that reminds me of the way Lemony Snicket writes in “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”
I am glad that this book has an index because it gets a little hard to keep track of all the different people and types of creatures. I thought that the second book started out a bit slow but that is not true of this one. “Leven Thumps and the Eyes of The Want” has been exciting right from the beginning. The story has gotten to the point where things are getting a lot more interesting and a lot more information is being reveled and of course, the book ends with a couple of shocking revelations that making me more anxious than ever to see where the story will go once book 4 is published.
The more I read this series, the less I like it. The plot lines are really imaginative, and I enjoy some of the bantering conversations in the book and the humor, but I was honestly bored most of the way through the book. There is no engagement of the reader in these books -- no clues to pick up on, no foreshadowing, just one sticky situation after another. The characters are flat and there just isn't any depth to this. Lots of the subplots don't come together or make much sense (I suppose they'll resolve in the later books?).
This is an interesting story line and I'll probably finish the series. I like the imagination of the author that create such fantastical possibilities. However, this book is very different from, say, "Wrinkle In Time." Often the descriptions are too broad and the magical definitions too general to engage me in the book. In each book, I've found myself having to relearn about the characters and the rules (which seem to conveniently change) that govern them.
So far I'm not really liking this book as much as the first two. its basically the same story as the first two books. Which is good because there all following the same plot. But unlike the other two books, there is not as much action, intense parts of the book. It seems like the writer ran out of ideas and started using things like the worlds biggest popcorn, or forget-me-not water, and just other things that have been used many times.
There was a huge hype about this series because the author came to our school and everything, so I got excited and tried to read the whole thing. It wasn't that good, and now I regret it because I have a signed copy of the second book and it's personalized (he signed it "To Maigan") and I'll probably never read it again...I never finished the series, and part of me wants to, part of me doesn't...
This book was much better than the second. It was adventurous and exciting. I knew all the characters and was more "comfortable" in Foo after the extensive character/place development in the second book. :) I REALLY enjoyed the Want character. He was great. Can't wait for "Leven Thumps and the Wrath of Ezra"!
“Leven thumps” and the eyes of the want- was a great book was full of delight and wonder. In this book, Leven is trying to avoid the evil Azure as he learns about who the real evil is as the Dearth arizes. Meanwhile Geth and Winter are trying to find Azure as, Azure is recruiting 10s of thousands of rants as well as nits and cogs for the battle of Foo and reality, that surely will happen. The want is being no help and the amazing island “lith” sinks, as the gloam grows bigger. (avert your eyes- if you don’t want a spoiler) Leven Accidently when he pokes him with a metal sword in his weakness and kills the want and the want spills his guts out revealing that he is Leven’s Grandfather and that Leven is the new want.(OK YOU CAN lOOK NOW THE SPOILER IS OVER)Ezra learns of the new gateway and is now looking for that as the evil in foo grows stronger.
I really enjoyed this book it was worth every second to read and find out all the secrets of foo. I really thought that most of the parts with parts the involve Ezra and Tim and Derrick necessary. But I really didn't enjoy the parts with terry and addy and especially janet, I actually ended up skipping most of those parts when I read their name. Other than that I really like the book and thought everything else was fine and rather swell and stuff. I like how the author portrayed the characters, Leven, Geth, Winter, Clover. As you see as the characters grow you’d expect them to grow and be different and better people and I see a lot of that and a lot of it happening in this book and I like to see character growth it really makes a better story. I like this book because I can relate to a lot of things like a lot of his small childhood stories he said in front of each chapter, as well as a bunch of the things the characters said and did. Like when Ezra was having mixed feelings over something and he was being like really nice. I have those moments too. Because I ain’t generally a nice person. Anyway I like leven because he is a very original character and in he is different than most characters in other books I have read. So it feels good to have some variety. This book makes me feel happy most of the time but sometimes I just get annoyed with it when some parts in the book that I don’t want to happen right now just happen but I generally like it even though it can be frustrating but I really enjoyed this book.
Everything isn’t set. is the theme I came up for this book as you see not all things are decided and thought out, as you can tell that a lot of the the things in this book are about fate and it comes to show that everything isn’t decided and we can make our own decisions and choices and affect our own lives in a cool and different way. I really like this book and I hope that you can make a good CHOICE and decide to read this book! Thank you!

This is the 3rd book of Leven thumps, During their travels winters ice/cold powers got taken away and they are searching for the secret creature to trap and bury him to protect foo from chaos same for the over-world monsters from foo are showing up and making chaos for every mortal, when they stopped at a tavern/restaurant in foo Leven had to go to the rest room their on his way back up the rest room stairs the secret creature was lying to him for Leven to give him the key so the secret can wreak chaos and Leven didn't give him the key. In this book their are figurative languages example of one is imagery "A group of six souls were sitting in the far corner. Two of them were rants, covered in large black robes; two cogs their blue foreheads appearing almost green in the light of the fire." (6) another example of figurative language in the book is metaphor "

The third in the series, this book drags the reader deeper into Foo and even gives us a little more information about the sycophants. Along the way, more distressing news about the current state of Foo keeps our main characters off balance and draws them away from each other, just as they need each other most. The unknown narrator makes some commentary at the beginning of some chapters that reminded me of Victor Hugo's chapters on history thought Obert Skye's narrator limited his descriptions to a couple of paragraphs at the beginning of a few chapters. Perhaps, he wants us to learn a few life lessons as we root for Leven, Clover, Winter, Tim, and Geth to be led by fate to the right place at the right time or their end, and probably the end of Foo and reality as we know it.
Obert Skye's imagination continues to mesmerize me even a decade after discovering this series in middle school. This book is one of the darker books so far, where practically every character is going through a rough time. Book 2 was good but now that we've read book 3 it is clear that this linear timeline required book 2 for the backstory so we could get to the heart of Foo's needs. Leven has grown so much as a character in what is only a few months, if not mere weeks, in the story. The evil characters are also very understandable, reaching for something they have only ever dreamed of.
This is my second time going through this series and it is as good as I remember. I look forward to reading the last two.
This book continues the story of Leven Thumps, Clover, Winter, and Geth. Leven finds himself still in Foo and encountering people he wished he didn't have to, but knows he needs to. He will learn who is mother is and where his roots started.
If you enjoy fantasy, pre-teen, or adventure stories, this book is for you!
In this installment, we find out more about Foo, meet the Want, and chase all over the kingdom for various reasons. It is nuts.
There's also some developments back home. Ezra is a complete loon, and Leven needs to be careful.
I was glad to have this on hand when I finished book two. I started it the same day. As much as I know these books aren't perfect, they provided a very bizarre distraction when I needed it.
I think I need a break from this series. I adore the characters and the plotline, but I found this book so boring. I forced myself to finish it, which I ended up liking the ending. But getting there from the start? Ugh! It was a mess. I will eventually come back because the story isn't bad. This book just wasn't on the level that the other two in the series. I will say that the series is great for younger readers, and it's easy to understand.
As the case for alot of series for me, they drag out and fall flat. Sad to say, this one did the same. It was sooooo boring at times that I considered not finishing it. there were somethings that held my interest enough that kept me reading it, but I will NOT purchase the next book in this series. I will just have to leave the ending to my own imagination.
Barely anything of consequence happens in this book. Definitely the worst one in the series. Geth was more interesting as a toothpick, as a Lithen he’s just super annoying and doesn’t contribute much at all. Too much jumping around in perspectives to characters that are inconsequential and not interesting

This is probably my least favorite of the books so far, mostly because every other chapter started with some hypothetical or anecdote that didn’t relate in any way with the subject of the chapter, so that got annoying real quick. Leven also made some grade A bad choices, although the other characters were interesting to read about (well, Geth and Winter).
- “You can only count on two things - books and change.” - “My pathetic life is flashing before my eyes, and I’m embarrassed by how pointless it is.” - Andrus - Amazing amazing book. I loved the twist with the Want and Leven’s first dream. - I can’t wait to see what happens when he releases Phoebe and if they’ll actually win the war.

It took me a bit to get into the story because it has been so long since I read the others. But in the end I enjoyed the book overall. Thank goodness for the guide at the back or I would have been totally lost at the beginning.
This series was definitely written for an age group different from mine. I felt that there were too many types of characters. I also felt that the plot moved too slowly. I just couldn't get caught up in the story line.
I have been reading this series for just a week and I can't believe how quickly I got wrapped up the adventures. I love there are also pictures to help visualize the scenes.
