This book was wonderfully written and I enjoyed the quick read. I was broken hearted for the main character, and his struggles brought me back to my brother who passed who I felt could relate to some of the themes of the book. Addiction and struggle with mental health were core subjects and many readers can connect. I definitely recommend this book!
A well written, quick read! A bit creepy while telling a relatable story of family, loss, mental health and addiction. Look forward to reading more from this author.
This was a suspenseful, devastating, and beautiful supernatural story of battling the demons of addiction. The story is fast-paced and had me creeped out and turning the pages so quickly, I finished the story in one sitting. I loved the mc and felt connected to him as anyone would who has struggled with loss, addiction, or depression. I highly recommend this one and look forward to reading more from this author.
Ashes was a great, quick read! The main character, Dimetri, draws you in and makes you feel comfortable inside his head. He shares his sometimes dark, always deep thoughts and emotions with truth and vulnerability. Very relatable characters with true thoughts of despair. A great read!
This was a great and quick read, I basically finished it in one day. I feel like you really get to know the main character and your heart hurts for him as he battles loss and addiction. You truly ride this rollercoaster with him.
This was a good read that has real life connections. Really develop relationships with the characters and feel what they are going through. Looking forward to more to come from this author.
Where do I begin. This authors descriptive writing had me hooked from page one. I felt I was sitting in the same room with the MC Demetri. This is a beautifully written story of the physical and psychological battles with alcohol addiction.
The MC Demetri had me so invested in his journey that I sat on edge with every turn of the page praying for his life to succeed. This was also a tale of grief and how losing someone can affect so many aspects of ones life.
The author held my attention the entire time. I felt the MC Demetri's feelings. The despair, the longing, the pain. This was not the psychological thriller that I thought it was going to be. It was more. It was thought-provoking, meaningful, and beautifully realistic.
