Другий том «Пігмаліона» зустрічає без жодної паузи, хапає за горло і тягне глибше у вир братерської відданості, божевілля маскотів і болючих відкриттів. Радість Кеіґо від того, що він нарешті знайшов Макото, триває лічені секунди, перш ніж усе знову летить у прірву: хлопчик починає змінюватися просто на очах. Те, що виглядало як диво, перетворюється на нове коло пекла й відчаю.
Цей том значно напруженіший: він розвиває центральний вузол історії, вплітає більше фактів про зловісний проєкт «Пігмаліон» і водночас змушує співчувати героям так сильно, що іноді хочеться зупинитися, аби перевести подих. За маскотами ми бачимо вже не просто хаос, у їхніх діях помітно мотивацію, а це робить їх ще моторошнішими.
Милість маскотів контрастує з диким, майже вибуховим насиллям, а деталізація кадрів посилює ефект від подій. У моменти, коли сторінки перетворюються на вир шалених атак і гротескних трансформацій, дуже легко відчути паніку самих персонажів.
Та попри кривавість і абсурдність того, що відбувається, другий том дарує несподівано хороші емоції. Біль Кеіґо за брата, виснаження від втечі, перші натяки на правду про їхню родину. Усе це робить історію ближчою й чуттєвою. Вона про боротьбу там, де здається, що боротися вже марно.
«Пігмаліон» продовжує тримати шалений темп, шокувати й захоплювати. І після фінальної сторінки хочеться тільки одного: дізнатися, чи є хоч якась надія в пеклі, що поглинає героїв.

Keigo is at the festival with his mascot loving younger brother Makoto and his best friend Ako Sejima when all of a sudden, something causes the mascots to spiral into a bloodthirsty rage. Their systems are hacked and they begin to prey on every living thing in their path.
The premise started off fairly interesting. There's no denying that mascots can be extremely unsettling and this story plays off of the fear of them malfunctioning and the electronic mascots being hacked for nefarious purposes, but the story ends up getting unnecessarily convoluted and devolves into a mediocre tale full of very poorly executed shounen cliches in place of a genuinely compelling horror story. It probably would've been better if it wasn't so rushed and tried to cram in a million different subplots into such a simple premise.

Keigo Ayahara attends the National Local Mascot Festival with his little brother, Makoto, and his friend, Ako. At the festival, mascots of all shapes and sizes are present for the public to meet and choose their most favourite mascot. Unfortunately, things turn ugly when the adorable mascots suddenly become vicious killing machines. In the chaos, Keigo is separated from his brother and friend. While searching for them, he soon finds out the truth about the mascots and a secret related to his estranged father.
Likes:
-- The story is inspired from the Greek mythology of Pygmalion. For those who like gore and violence, this manga has a lot of such illustrations. I like the storyline and the plot twists too. It's an okay read.
Dislikes:
-- It could have been more interesting if the story was longer. :D

Segon número que manté el bon nivell del primer número i que se centra en el nus de la història amb més dades de l'experiment governamental i bons enfrontaments entre els protagonistes i les mascotes assassines donant explicacions a la seva transformació. Violència bizarra i esbojarrada. El punt fort, un cop més el treball d'il·lustració.

Este tomo ha sido desagradable de forma peyorativa. Y la historia ha dado un giro que no sé. Aún así, con ganas de leer el desenlace en mi última lectura del año ❤️
