I saw the book, checked reviews, purchased it, read it, and didn't like it(how ironic!). The only reason I am not giving any lesser rating is because it does contain some useful stuff. I found the name of the name misleading. I was irritated by the author's excessive use of "law" - It seems everything is a law to him. And then there was the frequent recommendation to read his other books - it would be understandable if the book didn't include multiple pages(and book's cover) to recommend his other books as well. The preaching of God on every other page also impacted my contentment of reading it. I didn't agree with all the things in the book but then everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.
It was a tumultuous time in my life when I got my hands on this book. We were cleaning up old bookshelves at a friend’s place and came across this. I was longing for happiness and here’s a book that claims it can show me how to be eternally happy. This was quite a simple book at the first glance but carried deep meaning with each re-read and introspection after every page. I don’t believe in a higher power or God to which the author attributes many things but I understand what it means for someone who believes and what it means for me. This helped me through one of the toughest, most uncertain times in my life and I’ve carried these lessons with me ever since. I rate it 5 star because it has the potential to turnaround someone’s life.
casual reading book although it’s suggested to take it seriously. Overall there are quite a few things you would know already and you got to keep them following.
3.0 Stars This book marked one of my initial forays into self-help literature. Contrary to the anecdote-driven nature of most of the self-help books, this one diverged significantly, delivering over a hundred learnings. At times, it seemed as if the author was attempting to outline an ideal of perfection for the reader. The writing maintained simplicity, incorporating the message of 'having faith and trust in God' in certain lessons within the book. However, for me, the book lacked that standout quality I was hoping for—it felt like something crucial was missing. The author sporadically suggested referring to his other books for additional clarity, which, in my opinion, felt a bit devoid in diligent explanation and thoroughness. I feel that the author's explanations of the learnings could have benefited from deeper insights and a more comprehensive explanation. Considering the overall content, this book was moderately satisfying.
