From luxury limousines to speedy sports cars, Amazing Machines: Cool Cars features a wide variety of automobiles-- all driven by kooky animal characters. Lively rhyming text by the award-winning poet Tony Mitton perfectly complements Ant Parker's bold, bright illustrations. This rhyming book introduces your youngster to the world of cars...from what they are, how they work, how to care for them, how to operate them, what a driver does and more!
Includes the "anatomy" of a car on the last page.

This is one of my son’s favourite bedtime books. It’s a lovely rhyming description of cars with colourful, fun illustrations. The rhymes make it fun to read, and I like that it’s a good introduction to the concept of cars – between the words and the pictures, it’s helped my son and I talk about rules of the road, the mechanics of how cars work, and types of vehicles.

It’s a staple of our bedtime bookshelf!

Who this book would be for: PreK-K
Reflection:
Cool Cars is a great book to introduce different parts of a car and what each part does to help the car go! A glossary at the end of the book summarizes the job of each part of the car. Very cute!

I like this book because it rhymes and it's fun to read.

The illustrations will help children learn about cars, roads and driving as well as different types of cars. A diagram in the back of the book describes car parts.

3 or 3 1/2 stars. Nice rhyming pattern with colorful illustrations and lots to look at on the pages. The illustration of the car at the end seemed like info kids reading this book would already know
