While the book is full of practical tips many young lawyers will need, for me, it felt as if we were covering ground already handled during law school and clerking, particularly the sections on customer service and voir dire. I don't wish to fault the author, but this made it awfully hard to get through the book. The chapters are blessedly brief, but formulaic, and while I appreciate Lisnek's restraint regarding the inclusion of "war stories," a few more interesting anecdotes here and there might have made for a better read. Overall, it's not a book I'd read again.
