Charles Gabel is the author of the chapbook Pastoral (Strange Machine Books). Charles was born in Cincinnati, and he has since lived in Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, and most recently Boise, ID, where he is currently working on a translation of Virgil's Eclogues. He studies and teaches at Boise State University.

These are such strange images, though such beautiful use of language. I loved reading this, but don't expect simplicity here. Rich with images and emotions, there is something dreamlike or surrealist here. Patterns as complex as they are magnificent. The book is truly impressive.
