Kindness and practicality! And so easy to read. It’s written by a woman so much like me that it feels like it was written BY me FOR me. I might buy this for every new bride and new mom in my life. It’s my new shower gift go-to.

Perfect book for the perfect title.

It’s exactly what it promised to be.

I only took a star because i felt the whole chapter on like how to shower and care for your hair was a bit much/overdone. But.. maybe it’s what someone else needs..

Coming from a high-masking, high productivity FOO, this was exactly what I needed to reorder some values that I had not had the time nor the vocabulary to sort out.

I’m probably ADHD and when I figured that out, I started adjusting my life to fit what worked for me instead of the other way around. I would’ve been thrilled to find this book a few years ago to speed up the process. There are so many weird rules about how we’re supposed to function that don’t serve me whatsoever and having the ability to let go of them completely is liberating. Highly recommend if you want a different perspective on how to keep house in a way that works for you.

I didn't find this book particularly helpful. good advice about finding peace with where you are and a few tips, but it didn't feel very actionable.

One of the most helpful books I have read on the topic of "managing a household/self management". I love the kind and thoughtful ideas for how to make changes in both mindset and habit. A great resource. I will be re-reading and using many of her tips.

I enjoyed this book and found it to be helpful and practical for the most part. However I think I was looking for even more practical home related tips (“keeping house”) than figuring out how to live with a mental health condition (“drowning”). But there were several paradigm shifting frameworks that I took away from the book, such as focusing on a home being functional rather than perfect at all times. Or ways to be more gentle and kind with yourself, especially with the tasks you hate or that give you the most anxiety.

It didn’t get into the weeds of too many specific tips, since different people will benefit from different types of systems. While the focus leaned more heavily on mental health than I expected, I think it was still very useful for anyone, whether you’re neurodivergent or have a mental health diagnosis or not. But for those that do, I believe it would be especially helpful.
